Center Silencer Delete - B'ham Exhaust recommendations??

Looking to get the center silencer chopped from my 220T very shortly - I'm based in Solihull so looking for any exhaust specialists/garage recommendations around the Solihull/B'ham area.

A friend recommended TipTop Exhausts on the Lichfield Rd, but despite generally good reviews online there's also some really shocking ones showing poor workmanship, damaged vehicles, wrong diameter piping etc. and that's enough to completely put me off.

It should be a fairly straight forward job, but I want to make sure it's somewhere that will do it cleanly and correctly so if anyone has any recommendations that would be great. Preferably the closer to Solihull the better as getting into B'ham/the other side of B'ham can be a faff.

ETA: Torqueflow exhauts (Armoury Rd) look very promising and they're only a few miles down the road - any one got any experience?

There's a place called MIJ that make custom stainless systems. I've seen their work and it's very good. They're Walsall though, so maybe a bit of a trek from Solihull.

Have used MIJ for an exhaust before and they've been good. I've also used kingswinford exhaust (powerflow franchise) and had good results as well.

Yeah they do seem to be exceptionally well rated and they're only a few miles down the road from me.

I tried to call them yesterday but reached voicemail and I've asked for a quote via their website so just waiting for them to get in touch now. I think they're closed Friday's so I'll ring again tomorrow if I dont hear from them.

They're a great bunch of guys, a bit old school and crap at answering the phone haha. It will cost you hardly anything to have the centre silencer removed, if you're passing by tomorrow just call in to them and ask to book in, Immy is the guy i've dealt with when there a few times, really good lad.

So Torqueflow is unfortunately a no-go - they want £150 for the silencer delete!! £100 might've swayed me due to their rep but £150 is really pushing the boat out.

That's a shame really, did they have a look at it and understand what you wanted done? As it sounds like they are quoting for a lot more, as surely just a bit of straight pipe lol.

Based down in Redditch, all you need to know is the diameter of your current exhaust tubing and the length you're cutting out. I've got an exhaust tube cutter you can borrow and it's reversible if you don't like it. Let me know if you're interested

Spoke to them on the phone rather than in person. Not sure specifically who it was I got on the phone.

He reckoned they've done a few Clio's and started with £175 then said they could probably do it for £150. Told him that was about double what I was expecting and he mentioned "quality job" blah blah. Like you say, disappointed as they're only a few miles away and based on other owner experiences £60-100 sounds like where it should be at.

I've requested a quote from MIJ in Walsall - they're only half an hour away so we'll see what they come back with.

Looks like these guys are just around the corner (literally) from Torqueflow. Thanks for the recommendation I'll try and get in contact with them for a quote

I used the longlife near me, £80 and the lads were quality.

After the ridiculous quote from Torqueflow, no reply from MIJ and multiple failed phone calls to Longlife I eventually got through and got a quote! £60+VAT agreed on the phone and the car is booked in for Saturday 21st April! To be fair to the bloke at longlife B'ham it sounds like he's there on his own so I can understand a few missed calls if he's busy working away. Roll on next weekend!

Yeah they’re generally independent exhaust makers, that use the longlife name.
