Car Overcooling Problems

Coolant changed and bled this morn when i did the thermostat obviously, but i know how to bleed it. gonna give it another go though.

Dials were out a few weeks back to blank the airbag light out but didnt touch the needles or temp gauge.

Have done multiple times now mate. Dash is a simple one plug connector and its secure and fine.

I dont know whether i knocked the needle though and mis aligned it, hence why i need to know where it sits normally.

I changed my mind, seeing as i toyed with the dials a few weeks back im going to assume its them first, and if it dont work i'll change the sensor.

Do you reckon it'll be covered under warranty even with all my mods mate???
 
Cheers to Mark and the other lads down at Toomey Renault for having a bash at my car, much appreciated for turning a blind eye to the mods lol.

Outcome was that apparently every 197/200 has a fluctuating temp gauge needle. After a quick spin in Marks luvely motor it put my mind at ease to see that his did it too.

Anyone else experience this then?
 
Lol my evil plan is to bring to the entire 197 owners attention so it bugs them just as much, why should i suffer alone :tongueout:
 
Yeah same here mate, mine just did it one morning. It would appear though its a std clio thing, will be interesting to see if everyone experiences this. Maybe its just an Essex thing :tongueout:
 
so why was it effecting the cars performance if it was the needle?

sorry its kevs that doesnt rev past 6800 rpm
 
Glad its a normal thing. Noticed mine does it since i picked it up in october last year. When travelling at a steady speed seems to stay at the halfway between 1st & 2nd bars, sit in traffic though and its sitting nearer the 2nd one.
 
Glad I've read this now as I've got the same problem with mine. My Temp guage sits between a quarter and a half even after a long run. Doesn't even creep up if the car is sitting in traffic. was getting worried and have asked the dealer who sold me the car to sort it out. As they're pretty clueless I guess they will never fix it.
 
Well my problem isn't that is won't reach the middle of the gauge but it reaches there and then drops, only to repeat again and again.
