Car Costs - All in

Hey everyone,

I would like to find out what everyone values their car at.. So how much insurance, finance (previously if paid off) and petrol do you go through in a month?

I'm looking at £240 pm for the car, £2290 insurance per annum and around £150 petrol a month! So probably around £600 a month for the car, thats before tax :l Good job i love my dory!

Ryan.

Wow insurance is high, seems like that will be the biggest expense, i pay mine in one payment and its about £900 per year, bought the car outright second hand so no expense there.
so i owuld say about £50 a week in petrol ( i commute everyday by motorbike so only drive car once or twice a week.)

Your insurance, jesus! How old are you out of interest?

My car is back home whilst im at uni :worried: Paying for tax and insurance im not using.

Finance, none as the car was bought outright.
Insurance is £375, paid for in one lump when the policy was taken out.
Car tax, not sure what that costs, another 3 months until it runs out, so I'll find out then.
Petrol, so far, it's only been used for a ring trip, it was only bought to be a track day toy and it's currently still sat on the trailer from a recent ring trip, so no idea on fuel consumption.

car costs going forwards depends on how far the project goes

Just had my tax £260 for 12 month.

£280 p/m for the car on finance. £200 minimum p/m on fuel. About to be £45 a month on insurance. Tax is £10 p/m

so £535 minimum per month. Hmmm that sounds quite a lot, good job it gives me a smile every time I drive it.

mine costs about £200 a month in petrol, insurance and tax together are about £1k a year and i paid £10k for the car out right.
an absolute bargain for what it can do imo

Bought the car 5K outright. £700 fully comp insurance as I'm 23. £30 week in fuel. Don't think I've ever paid more than 1k for insurance wow.

There's no finance on the 182, so everything included, servicing, petrol, tyres, MOT, insurance, tax etc etc...

Total costs 5.361,33
Vehicle costs in GBP/mi 0,27

Then for the Saxo:

Total costs 1.912,07
Vehicle costs in GBP/mi 0,17

Bought a new Fiat Coupe 16V Turbo in 1995 for £20,000
Sold 69 months later for £4,400 px on MR2
Insurance = £3,300, Petrol = £7,700, Depreciation £15,600, Total Cost including other bits = £38,000, 60,000 miles
MR2 Bought new 2001 for 16,000 Sold Sept for second hand Clio 200
Insurace = £3,500, Petrol = £12,900, Depreciation = £14,700 Total Cost = £40,250, 100,000 miles

Cost to change Insurance on the Clio was £35.00, so far spending £200 a month on petrol @20.00p a mile

Their are no cheap cars, just less expensive ones

Car loan - £201.49
Insurance - £780, Paid outright but works out at £65 p/m - All mods included.
Petrol - 19mpg, works out at £0.33p a mile.
184 miles for work + domestic of about 40 average so £73.92 p/w

Totals about £562.17 a Month, plus tax, MOTS and services.

Never worked it out before, but at 23, IDGAF :001_tt1:

Never really worked mine out.

Roughly its:
£63 pm Insurance
~£21 PM Tax (thats about right isn't it?)
£280 pm fuel
+ Services and consumables (brakes, tyres etc).
It's cost me £300+ on brakes this month, and I've got the BIG service due in a couple of months too.

I don't owe anything on the car, so that keeps my costs down. But I had a tempting letter through the post yesterday about a discount on early payment on part of my mortgage, which might mean the Clio has to go...

May have my sums wrong, doing about 28-31 to the gallon
Shell super @1.39 (Stafford) seen it at 1.45 in Bury

i to Did not give f***, never will hopefully

Nuuuu! A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Mine has cost me since March this year...

£0 per month fuel.

£235 per month loan.

£20 per month road tax.

£55 per month insurance.

£750 per month on shiny things.

Ahhh, the joys of owning a project car. F?ck it, it's only money!!!
