I have had my car in for cambelt and pump within the last week. The car was at the garage for a day and a half as they could not time it, including an ex renault tech.
They have advised me that my pully is not standard and that someone has "played" with my VVT system. I did not see the pully so I am not too sure what he means by this, and ideas?
I shown my mate the car and he noticed also how lumpy the car is on idle, he said his old 200 was very smooth on idle and mine was very different. He questioned if the cams have been upgraded but I wasnt aware of any engine mods.
The car is having to go back to the garage as i have a huge flat/splutter problem since fitting, could this be due to them timing the cams wrong due to a potential change to the pully/cam system?
Sorry if this sounds stupid but I am not too sure what a standard car should run like but all this issue around timing and pullies is confusing me.....
