Cam belt service?

Hello

Just a quick question, I picked up my liquid yellow f1 on Saturday it's a 57 plate with 41k on the clock now it's from a main benfield renault dealer an they said they have serviced it but I'm lead to believe that they should have done the cam belt?? I asked the question and they said no no that's the next service due??

Hve I just been filled full of poop??

Thanks

they maybe looking at the srvice schedule for the 200, as i beleive they extended the cambelt service on the 200 to 6 years/72k miles. but this doesnt mean it can be apllied to 197 because as far as we they might use a different belt, but then again it may not.

Yeah I basically just said that its due now and I'm not standing the bill if it goes as they didn't knock me a penny off the car

they're exactly the same, but the 6 year thing is stupid, I still strongly recommend 5 years on the 200, or less with hard use

You'd be better off using an independant specialist (hi  ) for servicing. Renault do not have a good reputation in general for knowing the cars very well

My car went into a Renault Dealer, one that is supposed to be a "Renault-sport specialist"

It was still under warranty, I had the Cam-belt changed under warranty. And i paid for the Aux belt etc to be done at the same time..

I have had so many problems with this Dealership. But, I trusted them to change it correctly.

From the picture you can clearly see they used the old seals. You can clearly see where they have stuck a screw driver in to get it out...

I can not be bothered to go back and complain. They do not listen.

I am at K-Tec Racing on Saturday. I will get them to look...

That's just one reason I do not use a Renault Dealer.

Ah fair comment the only thing is with only buying it at the weekend and it ha 12months warranty I presume they will want it done there as I'm not prepared to pay for it to be done as should have been done before I collected the car! I think il have to have a long chat with them about what I would like done!
Thanks for all your input guys very helpful indeed
