Buying a used catback

I will be buying a used KTec catback this week so will I need anything else to fit it or will it come with everything I need? My mate will be fitting it as he is a mechanic and he asked if it would come with a sleeve?

Ordered a decat for it this morning too

Just to double check, a 200 exhaust will fit a 197 wont it?

it will fit, its just the tailpipes are shorter/flat cut on the 200 i beleive, the 197 are more stealth look. i think there was someone selling the 197 tailpipes in the forsale section last week.

Could I put my current tips onto the 200 exhaust do you know? I like my current ones

if the tailpipes on the 197/200 ktec exhaust are the same diameter as standard exhaust, then i couldnt see why not, you would have to bolt your tail pipes to the removable tailpipes of ktecs exhaust which then bolts to backbox.

it is the ktec pro performance exhaust, right? ive got the 197 version which is identical apart form the different removable tailpipes, so i will measure mine when i get home and let you know.

Yeah its the pro performance one I believe. I have pm'd that guy selling the tailipies. Dont really like the sound of bolting extensions on to extensions lol but we will wait and see. Just wish I could afford one of Fernandez's diffusers

Do you know anything about the 'sleeve' and if it comes with it? The description on KTecs website says it does but would there be any reason for the seller to keep hold of it on his car?

Alright mate, bought a brand new one from ktec and it just came in three sections. No sleeves or anything. Here's some pics I took, don't know if it'll help.

You could always get your tailpipes welded onto the ktec ones

You dont need sleeves they push together bit of jigging about i was fortunate we had a four poster to fit mine on quite a good fit in the end its a bugger to get the standard one off though in one piece so we just cut it in half lol

well my mate will be doing it where he works so he will have everything he needs. I dont mind it being cut in half as it help with storing it lol, although I will try and shift it on to someone.

My mechanic couldnt lol i do his welding for him

well I will get the 197 tips added (thanks again Hippy) and then see what it looks like with my current ones bolted on as well. If need be I will just sell my current ones and the 200 ones that are coming with the exhaust
