Brakes question

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy new brake disc's including brake pads. The one i wanted to buy are Ferodo DS2500 brake pads for the front and rear, and F2000 brake discs from Tarox for the front and ''standard'' Bosch discs for the rear. I have experience with the Ferodo pads because they are also on my second car and feel good. But i'm going to use it quit offen on a circuit. Will this be a good setup? I've also seen the upgrades from K-Tec, but i think this is just too much for now.

Hi rick. I’ve used both ds2500 and ds1.11 on track.
Ds2500 are good but can leave deposits on discs if pushed very hard.
DS1.11 are brilliant. Only downside is they produce a lot of dust.

Second this Rick. I've had a few passenger laps with people running DS2500 but the DS1.11 are a level above for track!! Get some pictures up of yours

I’m pretty sure that’s the same for DS2500’s too. 1.11’s are fine when cold and waaayy better when hot, they also don’t ruin your discs like 2500’s do.

My vote would be 1.11’s every time out of those two. And the standard discs are fine to use.

I use 2500's on the front with standard discs and they're very good, though I now need to check them for deposits!
The 1.11's are mighty on track - I was nearly sliced in half by the seatbelt under braking in @Big Ben's Meglio! Incredible pad but just make sure you clean your wheels after every track day.

I concur with the above, DS2500 are troublesome when pushed hard leaving deposits on the disk. DS1.11 are a vast improvement, however I would still say that Pagid RS29’s are a better all rounder (they are expensive though !)

I contacted my local dealer this afternoon but the die not recomended these pads to drive on the normal road.. They said bits will come off because they won't get to the optimal temperature. Are those your experiences as well?

We've run Ds1.11 and RS29 on the road with no issues

It's not a major job swapping disk and pads

You could run road disks and pads I.e. Brembo or similar and then use a better disk and track orientated pad when on track

another DS1.11 user here. brilliant pad on track and absolutely no problem using them on the road. brembo HC discs (coated) and quality brake fluid is all you need on these cars.

We used only a mild pad upgrade at the rear Mintex 1144 on standard disks

standard discs on the rear, with galfer FDRT1066 pads for now (i bought them together with the fronts). will switch to something different pads, when the galfers are done. not sure to what yet, though. standard discs are fine on the rear.

Alright, i might go for DS2500 on the rear and standard disc. Front will be Brembo HC discs with the DS1.11 pads.

Godspeed are also an option if you want a good upgrade but don't want to stretch to the expensive KTR kit.

Just put megane 3 rs calipers and discs with endless brake pads and motul rbf 660 brake fluid
