I've calmed down(a little), so here's the latest:
Engine and gearbox oil have been changed no problem.
My old condenser had 3 small holes in so attempted to fit 2nd hand one I'd taken with me.

Condenser I'd bought was found to be wrong once they had it lined up. so choice was pay the garage to reinstall old stuff and replace bumper etc.. or source the correct part and leave car in pieces until new part can be sourced.

Ummed and ahhed but like always threw more money at it. Two Techs getting me a new Renault condenser at cost but won't be available until Monday
Next came the worst 3hour journey into and through and then out of London on public transport that can be imaginable.

Not a good day

That's not good to hear mate, can't imagine the journey back was comfortable. Public transport in the summer is a nightmare. I'm sure once it's all back together though it'll be worth it! If it's any consolation, i'm dropping mine off there tomorrow for a couple of days and it's not going to be cheap either Whenever I sort out one niggle, another pops up. You can't win with these cars!

Every time it goes in the garage the already agreed expensive bill seems to double!!

Really sorry to hear this Ben, that is rotten luck I've been there when the car goes in for one thing, yet something else crops up! Always a kick in the nuts, I feel for you bud. Hopefully it can get sorted out and you can get back to enjoying her at the trackday.

A saga that's just gotten longer still unfortunately.....

I'm with Johnny99. Couple of paydays, a good weekend blat and then unleashing some whoop-ass on them rubbish looking, slow and poor handling MK4's with their new-fangled gearbox's at Curb's will have you forgetting your woes in no time

Thanks Johnny. Probably shouldn't of tried the cheap option in the first place and gone with a new condenser!

well i did moan a bit to be fair..its just s*** when you cant have your car..to me its adrenaline and all that when you are behind the wheel..my body just needs it and i guess you feel the same..

Ben, does that mean you ultimately had a condenser for a later model? I've checked ECP on both mine and your registration and it gives me the same part number for the Valeo part...

I'll have to talk to Terry to get the definitive answer to that tomorrow Micah.

My understanding is that the one I had was a radiator(I thought it was big)/condenser combination that can't be separated. Used on other clios and other Renault cars.

Our cars have a separate condenser (albeit hardly any difference visually) and can be ordered individually.
Terry is getting me the individual item from Renault. I'll get the part number for future reference.
