Update:
After having coilovers fitted recently naturally cornering speed went up on my last trackday so told the missus that from a safety point of view I really need more supportive seats
(She’s not that stupid I assure you)!

Wasn’t in a rush until I saw a lovely looking pair of Megane 265 Recaros in leather. Haggled on the price and after a 7hour round trip I now own these beauties!



Mates helping with fitting resistors on Sunday to eliminate airbag light.

Just need harnesses and bar now!

Update:

New calipers, rear discs, rbf600 brake fluid fitted. Engine oil and filter changed. New tailpipes fitted courtesy of Scorpion. Stud and nut kit fitted to rear discs to match front. Airbag light coded out after Recaros were fitted.

Long day but worth it. Happy as a pig in the proverbial.



Rear carrier bracket needs painting which I’ll do myself. Will also clean the arches at the same time. Not tonight though!!

Donington update:

Cars been cleaned. Fluids topped up. Car loaded up with wheels and tools etc.
Put my wets on for the first time since I bought them. Forecast for the drive up Sunday night is miserable but looking dryish Monday so fingers crossed I can get the AD08R’s back on.



Quite like the dark anthracite. They’ll definitely be staying on over winter.

Donington Update:

Drove up Sunday night after watching Arsenal game. Had a curry with a few forum members which was a giggle!

Stayed in cheap hotel so I’d be fresh for the trackday.

Got there nice and early. Changed from wets back on to my Yokos as the forecast was dry all day(which it was)

First couple of stints were frantic as I’d never seen the track. Had some understeer which took me a while with adjustments to suspension and tyre pressures to dial out.

Mid morning tuition made a huge difference. Flat through craner curves takes some balls!!

Loved the circuit. Emphasis on handling not power which suits the Clios. Great forum turnout added to the fun on the day.

Car was flawless. New recaros were huge improvement over standard seats they replaced.

Highly recommend Opentrack as a TDO

Love donnington and it’s my local track (30mins away) had there not been so much to do at work and only one of me I’d have had the day off

Craner curves is a great set of corners!! Love the drop all the way down to the old hair pin!!

McLean’s blind right is good fun! Jumps on you rapidly... you almost turn in too late if you go when you see it!

Did they tell you about turning into craner... make sure you can see the buffet in the restaurant before you hammer it right!
