ball joint/steering symptoms

Hi, could someone please advise as to what the symptoms are of the start of problems with front ball joints please? If you turn from one end of the rack to the other, do you experience, at the far ends of the rack, a graunch that you can hear and that can be felt through the steering wheel?

then your lower ball joints are goosed.

thanks. That sounds very much on it way out. What I really want to know is what does it sound like when it starts to go. Do they start with a quiet but noticeable squeak and get louder and graunchier from there? I would guess so. Any thoughts, anyone?

if it squeaks then its gone. mine started off with a knock then started to squeak.
