Auto wiper sensor wiring seems frayed and broke (auto lights still work)

Hi guys, i took my auto wiper sensor off my windscreen as they dont seem to work and i checked the wiring and it had been duct taped together and its frayed and the plug that goes into the sensor box doesnt fit right

Is this why my auto wipers dont work? auto lights are fine and work great

How do i replace the wiring for the sensor?

i believe so has my headlining sags in middle and the glue has all dried up and it needs resticking and i arent attempting it ... also it isnt a genuine renault windscreen but i took apart the sensor and the pad and stuff seems all new just the wiring looks goosed

So some useless **** replaced the screen and chopped the wire.

Sounds like they spliced the wires together and the wipers aren't joined up correctly.

I'd advice you try solder them up and put some shrink cable over them after confirmed they are working.

Then use some upholstery glue to get your roof lining back up.

yeah seems that way buddy, and is glueing the headlining a tricky job? ... i shall see what my dad can do for me with the wires as he is a electrician so should be able to sort out car electrics

i guess it depends on how much it is sagging.

But you don't glue all the area for instance.

Just bits so it holds it up.
