Alloy Refurb & Gloss Black Painting

Hi All,

Live in Windsor but work in Richmond SW London. Was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get my alloys coated in gloss black and refurbed. Dont mind loosing the car for a few days as I train it to work most days. Can be in Berkshire Surrey or SW London.

Might be a bit of a trek for you but there is a place near me in Billericay Essex that the old man just used for his Merc and they have done a top notch job I must admit!

I'm going to get mine speedlines redone in Gloss black there so I'll get some pictures up when they have been done!

I'm not near you so have no recommendations but I'd have a look on yell.com - I had mine done Gloss Black last year - cost £50 a corner but had quotes upto £80 per corner - definitely worth shopping around - at the end of the day the finish is going to be pretty much the same wherever you go.

There wasn't much wrong with them but they had a bit of a tidy up and then powder coated gloss black. They looked as good as new and being gloss - when they are washed the finish is really shiny. As said shop around - some places will have a website which you'd expect would have images of previous work.

I'm getting my wheels done at 'the wheel specialist'

it's a day turn around, you just take the car there, they take the wheels off the car and keep it up on a ramp all day and then refit once they're done.

£380 for everything, take off/ refitting the tyres, powder coating, wax the wheels too.

Not too bad? Saves buying a set of wheels while the others are being painted

Its not really? Charges to take your tyres off, refit them and balance them. That has to come into the cost?
whag you'd have to pay a tyre garage to refit the tyres? That's £12 a tyre there. Without paying to take them off

It is steep in comparison to what other places charge...! As mentioned on the previous page - I paid £50 a corner for the same thing. A quick look at their website shows them to be a company selling franchises to use the name - you'd be able to get a similar finish from an independent for much less than £95 per wheel.

I would imagine anyone who does a refurb does all that anyway. Should do if they're half decent!

I paid £50 a corner for my 18's couple months back. Fully balanced etc

The market is full of guys who can do it now. Although the biggest difference will ultimately be in the finished product. £50 like what I had done will get you, sand down, 're spray, seal and 're inflated tyre (they deflate it and tape around the tyre)
£65 upwards will (normally) get you, acid tank strip down of all previous paint layers, 2 primer coats, top coat, final seal and re fitted tyres.

The latter will last longer and have a better finish.

Recommend pristine wheels (Woburn) or mint alloys(silsoe)

Had mine done at my local renault garage for a pretty decent price! Don't know if all renault garages will do it but paint and referb for mine was £75 a wheel! Good quality aswel for the price!
