Alarm question

Hi guys.

Little confused by the alarm on the 200

The book says it activates 10 seconds after locking.

When I lock the car the indicators flash twice. If I press the lock key again they flash 3 times quickly.

I cant find anything in the booklets about what double locking is..any ideas?

I believe double press is the deadlocks.

So what does that mean in terms of the alarm?

Is it better to double press?

deadlocking makes the interior handles not work so even if a window is broken the doors cannot be opened

the alarm still works the same!

The only difference between single and double pressing is the dead locks. Without deadlocks if someone was to break the window they'd be able to unlock the door from the inside; with deadlocks they couldn't.

I always double pressed.

I've noticed something on mine when i double lock it, the red light on the centre console stays on, the one next to the hazard switch.

Is this right?

Mine stays on for around 20 secs. Then goes out
