aftermarket head unit install...advice

so guys, new to this forum, installed loads of head units n the past, so just after some clio-specific pointers.

ive searched and come up with my own conclusions, just review them and tell me yay or nay....or advise something else if im way off...

car is a 2011 61 plate Clio RS 200 Cup
headunit of choice is Sony DSX-S300BTX for £170 roughly, great price i think for what it offers...

headunit slot is slightly larger than single DIN so fascia adapter required, people talk of megane ones working, is that right?
something like this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Celsus-AFC5151-FASCIA-Renault-Megane-Clio-Modus-New-Packet-/200692706531?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2eba37ace3#ht_1472wt_905

also the steering column controls wont work (obviously) without cabling in between...
i reckon i could probably live without this so may install headunit alone and consider cabling in the future.
should i need it im guessing its this stuff i need:

finally, worst case if i need the glovebox out to fit cables in ive seent he how-to...but im guessing if i DONT fit the steering control cables i may not need the glovebox out...is that right?
cheers

To be honest it's fairly straight forward. Your correct on the megane facia plate, couple quid. I had to buy an aerial adapter to fit the alpine. Never bothered with the steering controls. Didn't think it was money well spent. Enough room inside to do it without removing glovebox. Just have to tuck as much of the wiring up towards the heater vent area as you can. 10 mins top you'll be done. Also a hole in the glovebox ideal for feeding an iPod cable through if needed.

local reputable car sound installer said somehing about having to run a switched live cable...as it doesnt have one?!?!
new one on me that like, i thought the clio 3 was ISO connectors thus having everything it needs in the ISO connections...

plug and play yeah? no running cables required??
