A 197 that looks like my old Fiesta

Hopefully next year I'll be getting a 197. I know exactly how I want it to look so I had a bit of a mess around and using a pic of ben_r1's car (sorry Ben!) I came up with this:

If you're struggling to see what's changed that's because Ben's is near perfect already (cage, kit, black Speedlines and Cup spoiler).

I've added the sunstrip and Recaro logos which I'll be doing as a sort of tribute to my Fiesta Turbo which I had from 1999 to 2006:





This Fiesta was pretty well known, multiple mag features and it's in the Haynes Fiesta book too, so I reckon it would be kinda cool to replicate the look with my 197.

that fiesta looks brilliant mate. very unique to the ford scene that one. i had a series 1 escort rst, so i still have a little ford in me (still buy the mags!!) but me sensible side took over and i got rid of it!!

I've had a near standard 182 since a year before I sold the Fiesta, and I'm itching to modify again. I could mod the 182 but I really want a 197.

Seven years with the Fiesta taught me what I would never do again - cutting the arches to fit big wheels, mess around with filler and fibreglass, and what I definitely would do - black wheels on a white car, stripped out with cage and buckets, nice low front and a rear spoiler to balance it.

Modifying an old car is great - simple electrics, no cat required for MOT, no worries about cutting it up or drilling holes, but on the other hand they are unreliable and handle badly by modern standards. I had 18s on at one point with 215 tyres and no power steering. Not fun!
