197: 40,000 mile 4 year service

My car is now due a 40,000 mile 4 year service, the light has literally just came on.

What sort of money are we talking for one of these and generally what needs replaced?

Off the top of my head;

Oil
Coolant
Oil Filter
Cabin Filter
Plugs, if they weren't changed at 3 Year Service.
Brake Fluid, can't remember if that's on the official list but it's worth doing if it's never been changed.

What sort of money we talking, roughly?

It depends on wether you go to Renault or a specialist and wether you use genuine parts. I paid around £300 (can't rememeber the exact amount now) for an MOT and 4 Year Service at a specialist near to me, using all Renault parts in May this year, that didn't include Brake Fluid though as I'd had that changed already in the January.

I had my 36,000 18 month service done recently, foot all my parts from Karl (twingogeeko) for about 100 notes then got my local specialist to do the service for 130.

So 230 all in, well happy. Car then had to go into renault for some warranty work and they changed the cambelt at the same time... Result.

Ours is having its 4th service on saturday, only done 32k, but I'm not bothering with a coolant change. The water pump will be changed with the belts next year so I'll get it done then. Seems stupid to have it done 2 years on the trot.

Ours is being done at BTM, I've rang round all the dealers and theres no way I'm paying the £450+ just to have a dealer stamp

I'll give the dealer a ring tomorrow and see roughly how much they are going to charge. There was a guy who serviced my Golf and it was never anymore than £150, so £450 for a dealer to service the Clio sounds a bit steep.

Its a joke tbh mate, they were all adding in excess of £200 to do the coolant and brake fluid. One dealer got offended by the comment "I asked for a service not shares in the place" when he told me the price lol

haha i payed £197 at my local renault for a service shall be asking them when im home over christmas for a price quote

look on the renault website (my renault) this is the best i found near me and the worst. What you need to do is ring up the garage near you and say suchabody can do it for 313 and see if they price match it

Registered with MyRenault. £406 was the most expensive and £304 was the cheapest. Nightmare!! but the car has been serviced with Renault up to now so i'm just gonna stick with them.

Sorry if you have already booked with Renault but Sere in Lisburn are a Renault Dealer and they do all my servicing. Phone and ask for Andy Bell in Services. He will sort you out with a decent price (all mine have been!)
