225/45/17 Tyres ok??

Hi all,

Apologies if this question has been asked many a time before, I just needed a quick answer really :001_rolleyes:

I can get some Conti3's as a 225/45/17 size for £115 fitted, but the standard 215/45/17's are £128 fitted :worried:

Are the 225's fine on a standard car which isn't lowered or anything else, am I likely to encounter any problems?

Thanks in advance, Josh

Dont do it!! Hated it after I had mine fitted!!! Felt different! Get them from camskill mate, just Over £90 each I think then most places charge £10 per wheel. Win!

just the speed rating, but the standard recommended tyre would be 87W.

I've heard stories in the past about insurance companies dodging payment because of lower speed ratings fitted..

Where are you based? i got 215/45/17 87w conti sc3's fitted for £110 each this week

hmm - might cost you more in fuel to get to Martins in westend (just off j3 m3) you will need to get them ordered in too - he had issues finding stock for me.

You might also want to ask around for cs5's instead as they may be becoming more common / cheaper?
