200 cup price advice please

Hi. Being a complete idiot, I spoke to Rsevo a month or so about his lovely 200cup and then didnt buy it...I see its now sold am I'm kicking myself.

So, I've been scouting about looking for something similar and I'm seeing asking prices all over the shop. Maybe a bit "how long is a piece of string" but any thoughts on what a nice 200 either Cup or FF with Cup susp, somewhere between 50 and 70k miles, recaros and well looked after would cost me?

Sorry bud that was me that took that off his hands. We were in the same boat in the way of specs and we’ve seen prices vary from £6000 to £9000. Theres a couple of nice ones on ebay at the minute for around £6500 with 50k ish on the clock not cup but ff

I’m interested to know what people’s thoughts are regarding spec, mileage and ultimately price. My Clio may be advertised privately in the New Year so would be good to know about current market.

For info my car is Ultra Red, Cup chassis, Recaro’s and soon to have Speedlines with 43,000 miles. Price wise I was initially thinking around £6900.

It is really nice we love it we’re over the moon with it to be fair. Im very new to clios but i have been quietly observing and doing research. It seems like 3/4 months ago they was going for around £1000/£1500 more then what they are for sale for now i dont know if its the time of year or what but some cars are coming up for a steal

I think they then seem to drop in price markedly depending largely on mileage. Prices do seem a bit all over the place and I agree, there are some good buys around.

Make sure the low milers have also been looked after...

They Still need regular service and cambelt changes. I’d rather have one that’s been run than sat on a drive

That seems a reasonable price. Not too many ultra red ones about.

Shame it is black as I think it is the worst colour for the 200.

Not aimed at the original poster... I never did get the fascination people have with low mileage cars... people go nuts for cars with sub 20k miles on at 7-10 yrs old... shopping cars driven by old buddy’s will have more engine wear and crap build up than day one that’s done 10k a year...

My cup has done 65k on a 09, which is as low as I’d want a car I reckon...

Chassis bits are easy to replace... engines not so much...

Yeah I know it seems weird.. my cups done 83k on a 62 plate which is higher than the average car but still runs smooth, end of the days it’s just a number

Excellent point, it's just a shame that the huge majority of car buyers don't share the same opinion. Low mileage is such a big deal and really does mask so many other things - there's a real stigma to higher mileage cars, even though they could potentially be the better option that a low mileage garage queen that never gets a proper run.

Hi. Thanks for all the replies. I reckon I could get something nice for mid 4's if I go into higher mileage cars that have the full service history. That could be stonking value.
One other question, what, if anything, is the price difference between a cup vs a ff with cup pack? The first is rarer but more people seem to want the latter. I guess the a/c is nice but I dont really want keyless entry and the other gizmos as I never use stuff like cruise control and folding mirrors as I view it as more stuff to go wrong plus I'm old and get confused easily

Find a cup with a/c then Sounds just like what your after, took me a few months to find a nice mercury grey cup with aircon

Years ago we had a customer that bought an '89 Aston v8 zagato volante. Very rare car from a collection. It had done 845 miles. We serviced it but it was as new. Trouble was he was using it every day after it had been sat for around 20 years.

All the bushes fell apart within a few months. Surprised they lasted that long.

the aston zagato was a funny old car. The 60s one is so gorgeous and yet the 80s one (at least to my eyes)...err..isnt. Time has not done much for it either. I imagine that they still cost a fortune though, seems nuts to pay that much for a car just to look at - i guess the owner doesnt share my view on its looks!
