12k service

service light came on today even tho its only done 3k since last one so rang the local Renault and booked it in for a bargain price of £143 service and mot does this sound too cheep? will they use ****e parts etc?

It seems cheap, but I would ask if it was actually including parts. I would imagine its the 3yr service - same as mine, but you will be on a 57 plate - so it would be spark plugs on top of everything else they do during the service. IIRC I payed £275 for parts and labour inc. MOT so yours seems good. Its up to you how you want to play it, you can get it done and refuse to pay any more than what was quoted, or ask them to clarify it and risk paying more if they have made an error.
 
my misses dad owns an mot garage so im not botherd bout the mot but want the ren stamp lol mine is a 07 but has only cover 13k now ish
 
yea forgot the plugs they bloody expensive
paid £150 for my 3 yr service from reno specialists

^^^ Yeah I can imagine that its not had the hardest of lives. I can just see them taking the opportunity to do it as 'it what the service schedule says'. If you see where I am coming from.

Service is every 12k or 12 months which ever is first.

Steve @ www.birchdown.com did mine the other night, pollen, air oil + filter. Wont tell you what it cost me then, i called in a favour :wink:
Plugs are expensive, and should be done at 36k, dont think they need doing at 3yrs? I replaced mine in my old 197 and they were (at the time) Renault only parts.

For the price you've been quoted i reckon its only air/oil filters + oil. Make sure they change the pollen one, mine was rank!

just had the service done and it even included a year rac brak down cover lol so all in i had rac one year break down cover a full service mot all for £149 bargain lol

gearbox oil is "filled for life" so is never changed.......but worth doing in my book so to speak - always best to drain in to something and check for metal wear particles...
 
Lol I would not have been happy if they had cleaned mine! Glad it is all sorted anyway mate - good price too!
