With the rubber top mount it should get rid of the vertical play when at full droop and transitioning on quick sharp bumps. I'd try it without the cup and see what happens.

You're also missing the cup the rubber sits in which is welded to the body... very strange

Also I seem to remember the pinch bolt having a splined section on the shank which bites into the aluminium hub. This may be why you can't turn it. I think I had the same issue and ended up stripping off some material on the hub in order to turn it to free it up.

I seem to have quite alot of play in one of the selector forks on the gearbox. Is this normal as I've never experienced this before.

I was changing the gearbox mount today and noticed this in line with the clutch line? It looks like a clutch delay valve or maybe a damper of sorts? Never seen anything mentioned so was just curious...
