New 197 Owner - What brake pads and discs?

In my experience Brembo HC discs with DS2500 fronts and stock for the rear is adequate for fast road / occasional track use. DS1.11 front and DS2500 rear combo was amazing but probably a bit too much unless you do many track days (i don't).

    Suspension refresh

B14's are definitely more comfortable than the cup suspension in my experience. They ride stiff but not crashy. My only criticisms at this price is low travel at the rear. When lowered a bit, springs knock at bumps if not properly slowed down or carrying a couple of passengers, which gets very...

    Suspension refresh

Billstein B14's ride noticeably more comfortable and improves handling significantly, reducing body roll. I'd highly recommend for fast road / occasional track day.

    best handling mods

Best thing I did to my car was refreshing anything 'tired looking / feeling' on the suspension, even if they weren't exactly 'worn out', together with getting B14s. Drove like a brand new car after. If I ever sell it and decice to get another 200 in the future, I'd get a cheap one and just...

Bearing (belt?) noise + Unstable idle

FYI this turned out to be a leaking inlet gasket manifold. Replaced and all good now! :)

Bearing (belt?) noise + Unstable idle

Well had a quick look at rental cars and they are much cheaper than summer so I am definitely not driving the car this week. Still unsure if I should drive it to the garage on Monday though...

Bearing (belt?) noise + Unstable idle

Hi all. On Friday just when I was approaching home I noticed idle of the car was unstable. It raised up to 1500 rpm a couple of times and reduced back to normal whilst waiting at the lights. I didn't care much as it only happened twice during a 4 hour hour drive, parked the car in next 5...

Burned smell only under hard acceleration

I've exactly the same problem. It's began after I had a new (used) engine fitted together with belts and a new clutch kit. @Fletcher77 have you found the source of the smell, is it the clutch? Edit: This thread suggests it's burning soot that's built up and it kind of makes sense as I only get...

    Anyone have a resonated Milltek?

Interesting you had the same experience, I always thought there was a problem with the particular one I had! I will probably end up selling mine and go back to standard as well...

    Anyone have a resonated Milltek?

I bought a brand new Milltek resonated cat-back about a year ago to replace the stock exhaust on my 200. Well, actually I bought a second hand Ktec first but didn't keep it more than a week as it was far too loud for me. I do a lot driving for work so I was looking for an exhaust just a touch...

Workshop recommendation for coilover & top mount setup / London

My car has recently gone through a suspension refresh including B14 coilovers and Compbrake adjustable top mounts. The car drives much, much better but I doubt the coilovers are set correctly, as the rear is sitting lower than the front. I thought I'd do it myself but chickened out a bit so I'm...

    Suspension recommendation

I've recently switched to B14 from cup suspension. Ride is more compliant and comfortable on bumps and body roll is still very well controlled when pushing it. I haven't been on track with this setup yet but was superb on mountain roads in Scotland a couple of days ago. Overall I'm very...

The Definitive What Suspension Do You Have Thread...

I was wrong assuming I've the later top mounts, turned out it's the early ones! Decided to get the Bilstein B14's. Where's the best place to order them? Anything south of £843 would be great! I'm also replacing the top mounts with new, OEM ones. Am I missing an opportunity by not getting...

    Front Suspension Dead, Suggestions?

Thanks for the info guys. I'll go b14 if there is definitely no konis for late 200. Still finding that a little weird, contacted another company asking if they have in stock... Sent from my G3121 using Tapatalk

Anyone fitted Koni's on a late 200 with cup suspension? @steve11, was yours a 200 cup? Thanks.

    Front Suspension Dead, Suggestions?

How does the B14 compare to a fresh cup suspension in terms of comfort / ride quality? Does the ride (low-ish speed particularly) gets a bit more compliant or even crashier? I can't seem to find Koni's for my late 200 cup suspension so toying with the idea of B14's or brand new cup suspsension...

    My 2010 Racing Blue 200

Sincere thanks for your support, it does mean a lot as I've been self loathing last couple of days. On the bright side I've some money on the side and hopefully AA garage cover will pay some part of the repair cost. It would have been a lot worse if this had happened at other times in my life...

    My 2010 Racing Blue 200

Been meaning to post an update for many weeks now but kept postponing it for various reasons / time constraints. I was going to rave about my new amazing brakes (ds1.11 in front, ds2500 in rear), new ADR08r's and plans for a full suspension refresh but instead I've some very upsetting news. Not...
