    Glacier White 200 Cup

The rear section of the front arch liners are cut to go around the brake lines. The front sections have a larger section cut out to let some brake cooling air in. A couple of zip ties are necessary to hold the remnants of the front liner in place. With Cup front end and relative low ride...

    Auxiliary belt tensioner

With the genuine auxiliary belt kits being out of stock at the moment, what is the recommendation for the best aftermarket brand of tensioner?

Clio 200 crank shaft pulley removal with woodruff key

Spray penetrating oil around the interface between the crankshaft and the timing gear. Then make a tool using a flat plate with 2 holes aligned with the 2 x M4 threaded holes in the timing gear. You can lever the plate and it should allow the timing gear to come free. Alternately drill and...

    184mm clutch

I'm replacing the clutch on my X85 Cup racer with a TTV light flywheel, AP Racing 184mm single plate clutch and AP slave cylinder CP6859-54. Does any one know of an adaptor/spacer to suit the Sadev ST75-14 and the AP slave? In an old thread @PROIL did the same thing. Does anyone know if he's...

new member with a factory clio cup race car 2010

Mine is 2008. I bought it from the UK in December 2018. It raced in Clio Cup Benelux 2015/2016 and Michelin Clio Cup (UK) in 2018. I've done about 25 track days since March 2019. Send me a PM and we can chat more. Robert

new member with a factory clio cup race car 2010

Neville, My car does the same from time to time. The warnings only come on at start up for less than a second. It's either one or the other. Perhaps on 10% of starts. I've tried changing the VVT sensor and actuator and the MAP sensor but the error messages keep happening. Now I just ignore...

    Optimiz Access

It's now August. Still nothing. I received an email in June saying " a new item has been shipped today". I asked for a tracking number but received no reply. I messaged the owner who said (amongst other things) "we are not thieves". I beg to differ.

Another track day at The Bend last week. Since the last time i have fitted Lexan side windows (I'll do the rear one next week), and I've put the Hankook F200 slicks on the ATS rims. Result was a 3 second/lap improvement. Pretty happy with that.

    Optimiz Access

Optimiz Access are an RS specialist supplier in France. I purchased an item from them in March, and it was not sent. I emailed them (in French) and received a cursory and evasive response about a shipment problem. I followed up and received no response. I messaged them via Facebook (again in...

    My most recent track day

Marsch, Reflecting on your thumb grip comments........ When I started competition driving (late '70s) in cars like the R8 Gordini, the steering wheels were large and there were no thumb grips. See this video from the era with works driver, Jean Francios Piot at the wheel. . Drivers like Jean...

Marsch, I will try to change. I will attach a Post-It note on the steering wheel saying "Don't Shuffle".

    roblee8g Clio X85 Cup

Yes, I am aware of this as many have commented. It's hard to change a lifetime habit, but I'll try to consciously think about it when driving. Maybe imagine that the steering wheel is like an F1 style with no top or bottom section.

    roblee8g Clio X85 Cup

No updates, only maintenance items (sump gasket replacement, inner driveshaft boot venting). Plus 1st trial with slicks. Thinking about a few improvements (fibreglass panels & lexan windows, engine upgrades), but shipping costs from the UK is prohibitive. Maybe the best idea is to enjoy the car...

    My most recent track day

Overtaking rules are as follows: 1. No dive bombing under brakes, 2. Overtaking on either side is Ok ,given that the slower car moves off the racing line. 3. No indicators as it can be misinterpreted. 4. The faster car has the responsibility to do it in a safe manner. The rules make it a bit...

    My most recent track day

A mid-week track day at The Bend was my opportunity to scrub in a new set of slicks (Hankook F200 200/610/17). This video captures lap 2 @ about 75% and 1 hot lap. Other cars on the track at the time include a couple of Lotuses, a Porsche Boxster, Subaru WRX, Toyota 86, and Hyundai Excel. I...

    roblee8g Clio X85 Cup

The car has been in hibernation for a while, whilst I finish off the new workshop. One job I've been meaning to do since last year was to change the sump gasket. Not quite straightforward on the Cup racer as you have to remove the crank pulley and the timing belt protector plate. That being...
