Just fitted a Hella / Behr unit. No problems. Changed the nitrile seals & all good

Seems it might an electrickery issue. I suspect that the lock mechanism wasn't "undeadlocking". Cleaned, electrolubed & refitted the plug & seems ok atm. - Time will tell.

The basic manual mirrors are an easy swap - but there's not a huge difference in weight. Even a pair of powerfold mirrors don't weigh 10kg

It seems that you might already have your answer. Left side power fold mirror should have 7 pins & 9 pins for the RH side. Non power fold mirrors may have been substituted at some time

A rattle gun is a great piece of kit, but not essential when you're beginning to tool up.. They can shear bolts in a heartbeat. They're great timesavers of you're swapping all 4 wheels for example & against the clock. Stick with hand tools to start with.

I'd agree with most of the above. One thing my Dad always used to say is that there's no real substitute than the right tool for the job. I'd certainly agree with the DeWalt rattle gun.. Get good quality tools & look after them. The Hellfrauds professional / advanced range are very good...

ok, well my passenger door loom already had the required 7 wires to the mirror plug - no change necessary.

Just an update..... You'll obviously need folding mirrors, an appropriate switch and only the drivers door loom. Relatively straightforward job. Might need to undo the door catch to be able to get to the plug.

Don't know about tronic. It was the 6 CD unit in dash with gubbins under the seat

After a bit of rummaging, I found the yellow plug - plugged into the extension that goes to the unit under the seat. Found the aerial too

A slight air leak past the MAP sensor has been attended to and made a marked improvement. I can still feel it, though it's now only an occasional occurrence. I'll keep playing..........

N0ddie - get the hubs super hot with some braking, then have a go at shifting the bolts.
