    200 cup hunt

A mate of mine is selling his 2009 200 Cup with Recaro's. Its not mint and is modified but mechanically sound (ex mechanic) He was thinking 5k-ish?

Rusty Radiator Support Bar - Ongoing Warranty Claim

That makes sense. I haven't checked mine out to see how rusty it is so I need to get underneath in the summer.

    Recaro Tilt Release Cable

Are you gents sure its the cable thats broken? Theres a part that unhinges near the runners to allow the seat to move forward. If you look underneath there is a bar that is attached to two spring loaded mechanisms. Sometimes bits fall off or come out of place.

    Clio 197 buying guide

    - Check for knocking on rear, could be knackered exhaust hangers or if an aftermarket system could be a failed clamp. Likewise, the heat shield on the diffuser can rot leading to a tinny knocking noise. - Bootlids rust at the bottom of the rear window, Renault have a 12 year anti corrosion...

    Strange brake problem

They have been bedded in as per PBS recommends. 80/90 down to 20ish x 10 times, calipers cleaned, rear of pads and pins copper greased. Bite, pad feel and power is good, no issue there. I should have said I felt this happened a few times with the Brembo pads. I also had new pins fitted at the...

    Strange brake problem

Hi all, Hoping you can help. I recently had front pads changed onto old discs (Brembo pads) a few months later I changed discs and then pads. (Brembo HC discs and PBS pads) regular braking has always been fine. Gradually I have started noticing a weird pedal feel however. When I brake quickly...

    Loss of Power When Warm

Getting rid of any cat requires a remap really, though the pre-cat isnt as restrictive. The lamba is registering that the exhaust gases are different so possibly overfuelling.

    Gear knobs

Id like one in black, as discussed on Facebook

Red 197 going to the Isle of Man

It'll be the decat causing the drop in torque. They have a natural flatspot between 3-4 anyway, a decent map should improve this no end although wont solve it. Decatting is a trade off between losing torque down low and gaining HP higher up. As for pads, I like PBS pads so far however I haven't...

    Ebay manifold?

To be honest, I wouldn't faff with it. The only reason Id remove my manifold now is to fix the flexi's if they went. But I have a spare OEM manifold I got for free as the flexi's are knackered so id get that one fixed beforehand to minimise labour time in the garage.

Rusty Radiator Support Bar - Ongoing Warranty Claim

I would suggest ringing Renault UK. I applied for my bootlid to be repaired/replaced under anti corrosion warranty 2 years ago. The dealer in Plymouth (Vospers) were useless. Didnt bother with service history or paint depth. Didnt hear anything for weeks and wasnt getting anywhere ringing the...

    Ebay manifold?

Plenty of people have them but they vary in quality. Some report zero issues, some report knackered flexi's quite quickly, some report cracking and poor fitment with them knocking on the subframe and upgraded engine mounts needed. I personally wouldnt; for the cost I think a Supersprint Y pipe...

Shame really! A pair of hammered Clio’s at Silverstone.

On one side, they may not have the usual wear and tear a road going vehicle will have. No parking dents, things replaced properly, etc. On the other hand, they have been thrashed within an inch of their life by a variety of drivers.

    Looking at buying a 197

They are really cheap! I wanted a full fat one and picked my 07 plate up with 109k for £3k 2 years ago. Bodywork is a bit shabby but I wanted Recaro's, xenons, climate control (looks nicer and has no issues unlike the standard manual controls that suffer from final stage resistor failure) and...

    Dougs Albi blue 197

It was pretty easy. 12mm hex bit, can of WD40 or Plusgas, something solid for the pins and a hammer, T40 torx bolt for the discs and copper slip. I do want to get back under there and give it all a really good clean up but I ran out of time. The pins I would say are worth doing every 6 months...
