    Remove sound proofing?

I agree that most induction kits would be a waste of money. However, I experimented with a CDA and noticed a marginal increase in power, and the sound was amazing. It had a cold air feed. Have an R3 now and that definitely gives a nice increase with a very direct cold air feed.

Just booked Bedford for the 14th September- anyone else?

If you're doing lots of track days then I'd invest in some proper semi-slick tyres, and I imagine the PS4's will overheat very quickly and start to fold their tread. Something like an AR1, R888, MRF, Direzza etc.

Just booked Bedford for the 14th September- anyone else?

KTEC manifold, decat and backbox, however I think it's more induction noise from the R3 airbox/intake.

Just booked Bedford for the 14th September- anyone else?

Bedford is a great track for the clio, although you will be underpowered on the long straight. If you're on standard exhaust and intake then you'll be fine on noise, otherwise Bedford is THE worst track for tripping the sound meters. There's 4 meters (or at least there was last year), and only...

Clio mk3 dry sump system Fit

Would personally consider selling it, putting a standard wet sump on, and pocketing the cash. I've never heard of oil starvation issues on road or track MK3's. In about 20 trackways with my car, throwing it around like a rag doll, never had any pressure issues. Dry sump install might be more...

Big spec 200 Cup *FOR SALE*

Yep, that makes more sense. The 197/200 has a stiffer chassis than the older 172/182, and a good starting position for what you have planned

Big spec 200 Cup *FOR SALE*

I need to think about that rear beam upgrade at some point. Not wanting to burst your bubble but if you had a 172 and wanted more power then you might be disappointed with the 197/200. It's really no quicker than the 172/182 on track, but the chassis is stiffer, brakes generally better etc. For...

Advice on Fitting Powerflex Front Wishbone Rear Bush

Burn it out. I tried pressing it out and broke the wishbone .

    Brembo HC discs

Brembo HC best by far. See soooo many people complain about grooved and drilled discs warping and cracking. Run HC's on my track car and they get a pounding regularly, and never had a problem.

    New Brakes Suggestions

A vote here for Brembo HC solid discs. Seen too many issues with drilled, slotted discs to deviate. I run PFC front pads, and with the HC discs the stopping power is immense, and doesn't fade all day when on track. Have the cheapest pads I can find for the back as the back brakes do F all on...

Aliengreen 200 and Cup-Racer from Germany

Some great driving skills there. Not sure how that BM missed you near the end of the second video. You'r a bit of a sitting duck for straight-line-speed cars like the BM on that long straight.

Best thing to do with standard non cup suspension

I started on a set of cup shocks and H&R lower springs as mentioned - track only car. For less than £200 outlay you can't beat that setup, and it was mighty on track. That's where my money would be going.

Yoko AD08 v Pilot Sports 4 which one?

Have heard many people raving about the PS4, so would say them. I've run previous versions of the PS range and they have been good all round tyres.

    Standard Airbox over Induction kit

Think it depends. I went from standard airbox to a cold air fed CDA and throttle response improved, and the sounds was immense. Only got rid as I went to an R3 maxi setup.

    Bought a broken 197

Look in the right place and an engine can be had for £300. If the gearbox is sound then you can strip it out and have a decent track car for under a grand. Simples. Enjoy!!!!!

R27 track car build- engine refresh time.

Good work. :thumb: My matter cage is in now. I decided to weld it in rather than bolt, as it will never be coming out. Hoping I can offset the weight by gutting the door cards and perspex windows front and rear.

    MotoGP

Yeah, was actually there and it was a fantastic weekend all round. Great party atmosphere and the racing was unreal. For anyone who's a motogp fan, Assen is a must. Only circuit for me which has come close so far is Mugello.
