    Clio 197 handbrake not working

Yes, make sure the arms on the callipers are all the way back against there stop, chances are your handbrake cable on one side or the other has stuck, manually pull it back and then pump the pedal say ten times with the engine running and then see what the handbrake is like, very common If your...

    Brakes and Steering

Might be worth nipping the Universal joint up (that joint that moves near the pedals) but If that doesn’t cure it you need to put your hand on the shaft (ooerrr missus) and get someone to rock the steering back and forth so it makes the noise, move your hand up and down and watch your fingers...

    Brakes and Steering

Jack the car up and on each side in turn take a firm grip of the wheel top and bottom and attempt rock the wheel, then do the same left to right, top to bottom is potentially one of the ball joints, left to right is a track rod end, I’d expect a new rack to come with rack ends

Can you swap the lambda with the second one if it’s the same plug or similar, often it’s just a plastic notch on the plug and the colour which is different, as far as I know the Clio doesn’t run wideband lambda

    My LY 200

Out of curiosity what/how much did you have to cut? Just open up the hole by aset amount? Do you get a strengthening plate for underneath or do they assume the aluminium top will add in strength?

It all depends if it’s running in closed loop or open loop, one pays attention to the o2 sensor (closed loop) and the other flat out ignores it and sticks to a predetermined map, if for some reason it’s stuck in open loop you need to find the cause (although I’d be tempted to say it would err on...

    Stop Start Button

Not worth all the hassle, reprogramming, sensors, new door wiring looms, door handles etc, better off buying a full fat not a cup...

    Stop Start Button

The hardest job will be finding one that fits nicely id think, any momentary push to make switch should do the trick, if you want to make it look different maybe smoothing it and colour coding it to the same as the dash so it’s kinda stealth?

Upstream influences mixture and is what your graph is from... An air leak will also cause this... and costs 3 quid to find if it’s there!

    Yokohama AD08R life expectancy

I’m not a fan of massive speeding, but I will admit to sticking to 50 or sixty on the back roads even on bends... perhaps it’s because of the chassis ability to corner I depend on the tyres more than I did in my V6 van and rainsport 2’s as it out handles it despite being slower by a fraction...

    Yokohama AD08R life expectancy

With traction control on not a chance, I’m 41 not 17 :tearsofjoy: most of that has been a daily commute, maybe two energetic drives and a few excitable roundabouts but the car sticks like glue so very rarely even lights the inside wheel up...

    Yokohama AD08R life expectancy

so I fitted a new set of the above in 215/45R17 in approx 5k miles if not a touch less since 25th June this year, so 4.5 months... the fronts are pretty much done... Is this about right or have I been using my right foot in an aggressive manner or do they normally last about that, no track...

    Windscreen washer jets

Sounds like it has had a new bumper without washers if the pump makes a noise when requested, although doesn’t it just pump at the same time as the front screen of the head lights are on? Keys can drop out of sync if they are like other French motors... if the battery doesn’t work it may be...

It’s very possible that something else is causing the lambda to read wrong, unfortunately people (not you by the way  ) seem to think that a code reader tells you what’s broken and what to swap, when in reality it gives clues As I say a small air leak would perhap cause a similar fault...

Normally I’d expect to see the O2 sensor fluctuating between 0.1 and 0.9, the fact it’s reading 0v and flat lining for so long means something is up... might be a sensor reading incorrectly or another cause Might be worth trying to check for any air leaks with a can of brake cleaner, spray it...
