so I fitted a new set of the above in 215/45R17 in approx 5k miles if not a touch less since 25th June this year, so 4.5 months... the fronts are pretty much done...

Is this about right or have I been using my right foot in an aggressive manner or do they normally last about that, no track days, odd adventurous run to the Peak District but I am sure I used to get more out of a set of uniroyal RainSport2 in my V6 van with bag loads more torque and faster all round, it weighed about the same aswell?

Being honest I can’t remember how much tread they had when new? Perhaps they only had 5-6mm in the first place?

I would say that is about right. If you drive slower, they will last longer, if that is what you want to do.

I’d say you’ve been wheelspinning too much if they’ve gone that quick. Would expect nearer 8-10k on a set

With traction control on not a chance, I’m 41 not 17 :tearsofjoy: most of that has been a daily commute, maybe two energetic drives and a few excitable roundabouts but the car sticks like glue so very rarely even lights the inside wheel up...

I’m not a fan of massive speeding, but I will admit to sticking to 50 or sixty on the back roads even on bends... perhaps it’s because of the chassis ability to corner I depend on the tyres more than I did in my V6 van and rainsport 2’s as it out handles it despite being slower by a fraction...

I ran ad08 on my old motor. Had them on for over a year and done 10 UK trackdays and 2 trips to Nürburgring .

The fronts had 5mm and rear 6mm when I sold them on.

I'd suggest getting your alignment checked, but if they've worn evenly I don't see that there's any point.

I’ve had mine on for longer than that including a couple of track days and they’ve still got a couple of mil left on the fronts and obviously more on the rears.

I've got maybe 2mm on the fronts, loads left on the rears so ill put my winter wheels on and get saving

they have both worn well over the tread and evenly at 30psi cold

I'm putting it down to enthusiastic driving when the chance arises  will try federal 595 nsr's next time around on the front with the yokos on the rear

as I say I think its the chassis and its confidence in its abilitys pushing the tyres harder than my old van

I had mine on for a similar amount of time but done more miles and 3 track days on them and still plenty left
