Most controllers have at least two settings. Apexi's avcr has two modes, within the two modes you can have a mix of characteristics: modified ramp up rates (can aid turbo spooling, or can be used to prevent getting a big hit of torque). Different boost for each gear, boost dependant on vehicle...

Also just thought, standard car runs a boost solenoid, this has to be disconnected pneumatically but still be left wired electrically, so Ecu will not know..

I run boost per gear in mine, judgement of each gear uses rpm and vehicle speed... I run 320bhp to 400bhp from fourth gear up, 0.6 to 1.4bar The avcr can run two boost maps and standard waste gate pressure. Worth noting you can only increase boost pressure with a boost controller not reduce...

I run the standard pump as a lift pump, into a 2 litre swirl pot, this then feeds the Bosch 044 pump

After serious deliberation.. Possibly considering buying an S1 -Still not 100% But the clio I am considering a finished project. Any thoughts on these? I know 400hp should be relatively easy with the TFSI engine -but will see?? Andy

With the engine bogging, what do the plugs look like? Does it do it if you leave it in the same gear? Brakes probably need a good service With regard to knocking when braking.. Does this happen once when going forward? Sometimes you can get a pas move forward in its carrier
