    Another headlight problem!

Yeah they were ' OSRAM Nightbreaker Unlimited', and the sides were the 'Cool Blue Intense' Don't think I'll be replacing with Nightbreakers again, might try Phillips or Bosh alternative.

    Another headlight problem!

Please ignore all of the above. Popped out at lunch time to take a look and realised I was being stupid. What has actually happened is the passenger dipped beam bulb has gone. Nothing to do with main beam. On another note, OSRAM Bulbs are proving to be absolute shite. Both side light bulbs and...

    Another headlight problem!

Speaking to someone at work (previous Renault owner) it seems like Fuse Relay might be a likely cause, anyone know where this is located? Presumably it's the awkward one to get to which requires removal of the battery?

    Another headlight problem!

So after both of my sidelights going pop, I've replaced them and confirmed they're working ok...(pretty certain all lights were functioning 100% ok as I specifically checked everything after replacing the bulbs). Now a week later, it seems my drivers side high beam is stuck on when the dipped...

    Sidelights stopped working

So turns out it was the bulbs. Thanks to Amazon Prime 2 new OSRAMS arrived at my front door today. This job is definitely easier the 2nd time around. 15mins to do both sides, and only 1 small cut to the back of my hand - I'll count that as a win. Top tip for sidelight bulb (passenger side)...

    Sidelights stopped working

Popped into local electrical garage today as I was passing, they assured me it was unlikely to be the fuse as the rear lights were all still working and suggested trying bulbs first. Apparently speed-bumps are the most common cause for bulb failure... maybe I need to slow down a bit. 2 new...

    clio 197 to 200t lux

Thought about the 200T move myself from a 197, really need to look at changing/upgrading sometime this year I think. Had my 197 almost 2 years now, and while it can still put a huge grin on my face, I generally get the itch for something new after 2 years. For me it's hard to look at the 200T...

    Sidelights stopped working

Both sidelights seem to have stopped working at the same time, is it safe to assume this is down to a blown fuse? The dash still lights up so I assume the stalk is fine, both bulbs are relatively new (1-year ish) Assuming it is a fuse, does anyone have any info on where the fuse is for the...

    Mystery noise - no solution?

This was the thread I had running for the issue - http://www.clio197.net/threads/new-noise-developed-under-the-bonnet.53068/page-2 Some pics on page 2 of the knackered component

    Mystery noise - no solution?

Had similar in mine and it was the clutch slave (thrust bearing, part of the same thing). Noise was present when clutch was out, in gear and in neutral, sort of like a belt squeal/squealing noise. Disappeared as soon as any pressure was applied to the clutch. Ended up having both the clutch and...

    MPG

My 197 is currently sitting on 34.7mpg over the last 2000 miles. New job means 33 miles each way commute, mostly M42 and slow roadworks of the M5. Pretty pleased with that figure tbh, but it's piling the miles on quick. "Normal" short trips you'll generally only see about 25mpg though

    Fitting a 197 bumper on a Mark 3 TCE

I don't know this factually, but I would think it isn't a straight swap due to the flared arches and generally wider back end. Needing to change the rear quarters too would make sense, but then I can't imagine it's worth all the effort, 197's can be had pretty cheap now days.

    Exhaust blowing help needed.

Sounds the same as mine, quite bad on cold but once the idle drops you can't really hear it and then only happens under heavy acceleration. Couldn't find any sign of what was causing it so just assumed was vibration or something. No noticeable loss of power, or MPG etc. I'll just keep...

    Gearbox question

Mine does the same. It's very rare, but occasionally like you say it sort of throws itself forcefully out of gear while you're shifting. I have the powerflex mounts, including gearbox mount and it still happens. It's quite rare though and I've put it down to yet another long list of Clio...
