    Clio 220 Trophy

That sounds slightly terrifying! :flushed: Bet you're counting your lucky stars no damage was done Yeah I'm going to keep an eye out throughout the year and see what people are opting for tyre wise. 205/40/R18's seem to carry premium and dont have many tyre options available. 215/40/R18's seem...

    Clio 220 Trophy

So.. first proper HOON thoughts.... this car is EPIC! I'm actually genuinely shocked at just how much quicker than my old 197 it feels. That probably has a lot to do with the extra Torque (I've not driven a turbo car for any real length of time before) but my god does it make a difference...

    Clio 220 Trophy

They were actually some of the first words out of my mouth when I first went to view/test drive. As soon as I sat in the drivers seat the car felt smaller inside. I don't think it helps that all the interior is all quite dark and then the tinted windows as well. In practice, I actually feel like...

    Clio 220 Trophy

Haha he did indeed. He needs to get in touch with Renault and get some sort of commission deal sorted out! He's been a great help with my seemingly endless list of questions which is massively appreciated :thumb:

    Clio 220 Trophy

Yeah it was a toss-up between a Meg (likely a 265) and the MK4 Clio. I'm totally sold on the RenaultSport brand after my 197, they really know how to make a good fun car. After going and viewing a Meg (admittedly I didn't drive it), it just didn't feel much newer than the Clio interior wise and...

    Clio 220 Trophy

So after 3 fun filled years with my Clio 197, I finally decided it was time for something new... I originally started out looking at early 200T's and then somehow @Micah got involved :tonguewink: and pointed me in the direction of the later models with the updated interior. After looking at a...

    While replacing clutch

As above, I'd recommend replacing the slave at the same time. For my Clio, that failed before the clutch did. Replaced both parts with OEM and no issues since

    Headlights info

Believe this is normal. In mine the lights stay on (sides, or dipped) when the engine is shut off and then only turn off when the door is opened. Opening the door seems to turn off all electrics. Slightly differently though, if you turn the electrics on, but dont start the car, turn the lights...

    Catback Exhaust System opinions?

Good point @Beany - does anyone actually know how this would go down under the new MOT rules due imminently? I know they're going to start failing DPF's that have obvious welds (where the insides have been removed). Does this also extent to vehicles that have the cat chopped out and replaced...

    Catback Exhaust System opinions?

Always admired the Resonated Scorpion Exhaust for the 197. Doesn't seem to lairy and the fact you can buy it with the slash cut tips to sit flush with the 197 diffuser makes it a winner in my book (appreciate your looking for a 200 though, so that's less relevant ) - heard old stories...

    Goodyear tyres, 2 or 3?

EVO Magazine do tyre group tests annually - always a good read if you're into that sort of thing; http://www.evo.co.uk/volkswagen/golf-gti/18309/best-car-tyres-evo-performance-tyre-test

    Interior rattles list!

Haven't tried anything to be honest, just never have them flipped down :) if it's just a couple of screws I'll have a quick look at the weekend

    Interior rattles list!

Mine does this too. Doesn't seem to make a difference if the sliding cover is open or closed. It just buzzes when the visor itself is flipped down. Seems worse on the passenger side but sunglasses and some squinting are generally required!

    Lights

I've had multiple disappointing experiences now with just about anything from OSRAM. Got through 2-3 sets of their LED Side lights and 2 sets of their dipped beam bulbs before making the change to the Phillips range. They just didn't last long enough and with how awkward the bulbs are to change...

    Goodyear tyres, 2 or 3?

Had 2's on all 4 wheels now onto 3's on the front and 2's on the rear. Genuinely noticed zero difference between the 2's and 3's. Both equally great tyres. Blackcircles has always treated me well for tyre prices and fitting. The Goodyears especially have always been well priced compared to the...

200: Belt service done, now I can't find reverse :(

At least with it being done at a main dealer you can keep taking it back until it's sorted  that has to count for something

    'lurching' when changing up?

Most experiences here sound pretty normal, I think these cars just take a bit of a knack to drive. As has been said the throttle isn't the most linear or responsive, especially at the very top of the pedal travel - I think that's down to the drive by wire system. Things are generally much...
