    RS monitor accruacy? 0-60mph

Yeah, it seems to give book figures and falls in line with Evo's long term car.

I thought they were planning to do a National Insurance hike and leave VAT at 17.5%? 15% was ace, saved me a chunk off my £25ks worth of building work and new kitchen. I did notice both Shells on the way home had jumped a penny from the morning, obviously planning to drop it after 6...

    1p off a litre

As with any budget, it's always best to wait and see the breakdown before jumping at the headline changes... An example swiped from elsewhere: When Osbourne said "no change" to alcohol duty (and this is how it's been reported by the media) - he actually should have said "we'll continue...

You're still paying VAT on fuel at the Conservative imposed rate of 20% instead of 17.5%... what you give with one hand, you're taking away with another. It's crap no matter who is in power.

    red wheels

Your car, your money - do what you want. Silver would look the shiznit with purple or a dark-minty green.

V2 - that's the other ones I was thinking of!! Basically price goes up as materials get lighter and things like fireproof linings get added.. All will be capable of taking a knock, which is all that counts. Uvex in matte black win Sparco Club V2 Tour Another cheap OMP Slightly more expensive...

Main entry level lids are OMP, Uvex, Sparco and another that escapes me at the moment. There's no prizes for having carbon Senna replicas on track days, just get what feels comfy. Beats renting some flea bitten lid full of other peoples sweat and hair gel. Gloves are a good call too, even just...

    RS monitor accruacy? 0-60mph

I've had a play and managed a 6.8 once. Everything else has been 7.xx. Think I managed to get lucky with a particularly grippy patch of tarmac, but on the whole it hasn't really been the weather for good traction yet.

    my new trackday seat :D

Ace! Looks a bugger for your blind spot checks, but you're not moving anywhere in that!!

No, most people I see have an open face one. Keeps you cooler, better vision, lighter and you can pick up a brand spanker for around £60. Linky to an OMP track day lid

Hot or cold? This is a sticky on another site I use, comes direct from Toyo themselves... SET UP ADVICE FOR THE TOYO PROXES R888 What I would like to do is to offer some advice on tyre temperatures and pressures and how to achieve the best from our tyres when taking part in either...

Yeah, 26F 28R (to get the back mobile), maybe drop the nearside F down to 25 if it's a tyre eater like Anglesey.

That looks fine to me, nice even wear. You've clearly had the pressure right too.

    Another R888 thread.....sorry

Getting way OT, but being quick... for a mess about on a track day, they'll be amusing and cheap. To get any meaningful performance out of them though you'll need uber camber and the springs on your V3s will be way too soft. Sump, dunno - never seen inside a Clio sump, it may already be...

Add: most TDOs won't let you on track on slicks without a cage (half may suffice, so you're ok there)

    Another R888 thread.....sorry

Go see Dom Field in Congleton, Woody, he used to work for a race team running a load of cars in the Clio Cup. He's got plenty of contacts and I'm fairly sure they'll have a container load of them somewhere. He's a really good lad and knows the race cars inside out, I'd highly recommend him...

For £100 a corner it's: Second hand, but unused track tyres - such as R888s. Easily achievable. New Hankook RS2s / Yoko AD08 / Federal RS-R Stretching the budget sees: RE070 / R1-R. I bet you could use some of the harder tyres all summer and still have enough left on them to sell...

    Another R888 thread.....sorry

Oh yes... edited. You can get 17" Cups on the continent, but they only seem to bring over the Porsche/BMW sizes here by the looks of it? You can actually get them from Costco, 996 GT3 RS fronts were the same fitment as my Golf - proper bargain when they have their -20% offer on!! Ebay.de...

Hmm, I could see those causing some fun conversations at the roadside, even though they are legal. If you're going to go all in, as Cookie suggests, then there's a few more options too. I've got Dunlop DZ03Gs in medium compound on the Clio at the minute, they're fantastic. Did all day at...

    Another R888 thread.....sorry

Doesn't matter how much power the car has, 888s et al increase lateral grip. You're not going to get enough heat into an 888 on the road to see the benefit over an R1R/A048/RS2, they'll all feel pretty much the same - so you may as well go for something a bit cheaper and with more depth to...
