If you're patient you'll get genuine ones off ebay. I bought one from ebay and one from wests renault on cs. net. I paid just under £200 for two new genuine ones.

Might be a stupid suggestion, but turn the air con off. Mine's like a different car with it on/off.

Have you tried tightening the nut near the carpet? This is what was wrong with mine when it was clunking.

I've got the Goodyear's on mine. I've been pleased with them. Good traction and seem to wear quite well. They've been on nearly a year.
