    2012 clio 3RS RB7 #166

Peter, regarding brake pads, have you ran plenty of different sets? I’m going to be changing mine soon and have used DS2500, RC5+ before on different cars. I wouldn’t rush back to DS2500 as I didn’t think they where as good as people made out. Just interested in your thoughts on the DS1.11.

I’m hoping to get a decent labour rate and parts discount through work - that’s the plan anyway lol. Though if I opt to just change the balljoints and not the entire hub then the saving is around £300ish straight away! I have used Motul RBF660 but it was as brake fluid in my Megane.

    Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

So with it coming up to service time soon I have started a little list of work required. The month is September will be an expensive one but I am hoping work are kind to me with discount lol  So far; Oil and filter change Brake fluid change - either Motul or Castrol Gearoil change...

Alternative to genuine discs/pads all round

Motrio, Valeo, Bosch, Mitsubishi all make various different parts for the entire Renault range. I buy genuine as I work for a group of Renault branches and discount etc can be good making certain items cheaper than the Motor Factor prices. Plus parts warranty factor.

    JMR's LY200

1mm remaining on discs is a long time. From memory they come 28mm new and a minimum thickness (Renault recommendation) of 26mm. I certainly wouldn’t be in any major panic to replace them.

With it missing some of the stickers, non R27 wheels and needing a gearbox repair it wouldn’t be for me. Budget for around £800 for the gearbox refurb along with labour for removal and refitting the box.

The only place we ever used where I worked was Gardiners Transmissions in Cullybackey. They would be a bit of a trek for you and I’m sure there are others closer. The likes of @turkie172 may be able to advise of someone closer to you.

Need some parts, ball joints and rear calipers

The rear calipers can be bought at reasonable enough money from your dealer as they offer service exchange units. As for balljoints, @Raptor6767 should be able to help with those.

Alternative to genuine discs/pads all round

Crazy prices. Pagid should be grand on the car especially if you aren’t too hard on brakes on don’t plan on putting the car on track. Alternatively I do have a pair of Ktec Black Edition front discs on eBay for auction at the minute (brand new). I had purchased them as spares but want to free...

That is lovely. Top choice of mods :)! I have a used set of Alleggeritas I may sell if the offer was good enough!

Yeah makes sense and to be honest i wouldn’t say they are that bad condition wise but it’s the type of thing that bugs me lol.

    New member, new Clio 200

Lovely car. Great colour and spec too. I went Clio 197 - Megane 265 - Clio 200. What the Clio lacks in power it certainly makes up for in smiles!

    Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

I can get them cheap enough as a service exchange unit through work already in red so will just go down that route. Surprised that it’s stone chips or cracks in paint that cause it, my front calipers are in good condition with just a slight mark where the pins have been removed in the past but...

    Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

Decided to fit a couple of recent purchases this evening as I had a spare few hours and the weather was in my favour! Firstly thanks the the guys over on the ‘Stud/nut conversion’ thread, especially @peter and @suj for their advice! The OEM wheel bolts just look nasty. I had been thinking of...

200: RS tuning Remap OR K Tech performance Pack 1

Just to echo the comments above, RS Tuning. I’ve travelled from Northern Ireland on 3 separate occasions to have 3 sperate cars mapped by RS Tuning. It may seem mad to most but we don’t really have any reputable tuners here and Paul has always looked after me and accommodated me every time I...

    The flat spot.

I can only comment on past experience and recommend RS Tuning in Leeds. Very well thought of. I have the KTR Induction kit as I find it the best for the ‘factory’ look. Though I’m sure you could DIY your own not a problem. If ours in no rush keep an eye on the classifieds as the KTR Induction...
