Bird droppings on bonnet - if you aren't sure what you 're doing, just leave them be!

My previous car was a silver/gray Megane II. During my 7 years of ownership, the car had been washed 4 times. Yes, just 4. Before I sold it, I took it in for a proper wash - the color was still brilliant and there were no dull spots or marks from the various bird droppings that had been left...

Handbrake trim - most idiotic design decision I've seen in a long time

So I took off the rear torx screws and slightly lifted the back of the plastic trim.. I fished out not 1, not 2, but almost 3 euros in change from down there!!

Handbrake trim - most idiotic design decision I've seen in a long time

Okay, you guys know how there is a gap around the handbrake where it comes out of the floor through the plastic console between the seats? Incidentally, the gap is right next to the loose change slot. And ofcourse, somehow I managed to drop a coin through the gap. Now its rattling under the...

    Rear axle toe in

I'll leave it alone for now, however I will order a couple of 10' shims and will monitor tyre wear, if there's a problem I'll have them installed by my local suspension shop... My left rear wheel currently is at 0 degrees 4 to 6 minutes toe in and my right wheel at 0 degrees 18 to 19 minutes...

197 code reader help- push start button question

An easier way to get to the 'Acc' stage is to have the car in gear, press the brake and then start. The electronics come on, the steering lock unlocks and the OBD port becomes active. Also 'select neutral' is displayed in the dash. At least that was what happened on my Megane II... P.S. The...

Camber Shims for a MK3 Clio GT

I want a couple of these shims to even out the rear toe-in of my 200... Total toe-in is within Renault spec but its not evenly divided between the two wheels, the left one has almost no toe-in and the right one has a lot.

Camber Shims for a MK3 Clio GT

Bringing this thread back to life from the dead, I'm interested in getting some rear toe shims, however the part numbers come up as invalid in Renault's part database. How does one go about getting these R3/CUP parts?

    Rear axle toe in

Indeed the rear isn't adjustable by itsself. There are however ways to adjust, either using shims or by pressing the rear axle. Renault apparently only concern themselves with total toe-in (I've seen the documents), meaning that if total toe-in on the rear axle is within specs, even if one...

    Rear axle toe in

I had my 200 in for a 4-wheel alignment a few days ago. It felt as if the car was pulling slightly to the left. Turns out that the front right wheel had a little too much toe-out. This was quickly sorted and the car now drives perfectly straight. The problem is, the alignment shop gave me...

Suspension noise or is something inside the cabin noisy? (update: now with video)

I too still haven't figured out the problem. Sometimes its there, sometimes its not. Yesterday for example, it nearly drove me crazy. The day before I couldn't hear anything. Very weird and annoying. The dealer says that having checked everything, the noise is normal 'stiff suspension'...

    Suspension Doink!!

Check the thread I've started here: http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5373 I've posted a couple of videos where the noise can be heard.. Is it similar to the noise you hear?

Any Andriod users using the factory Bluetooth?

What happens with the Renault headunit is that that it asks the phone for access to the contacts and call log, you press OK and 'Always grant' but somehow it never gets proper access and the 'mobile phonebook' option remains grayed out. When you click on it it says 'function unavailable'. With...

I'll try that although I think the squeak I'm referring to comes from the back of the seat..

Standard seats - squeak from inside seat

I noticed that the driver's seat squeaks sometimes depending on my movements while driving. Its a spring like squeak coming from inside the seat. I noticed that there are zippers on the back of the seats, can I somehow remove the back cover and spray lubricant on the springs there? Does...

Any Andriod users using the factory Bluetooth?

I have a Motorola Milestone, and I too had problems with the Radiosat unit. Which version of android are you running? My phone works fine with Froyo (2.2) on my 200, but with previous versions (2.1, 2.0.1) it would pair and connect but I couldn't make or receive calls...

clunk when pulling away from cold???

ABS pump self-test, it occurs at around 5-10 mph after every engine start, its perfectly normal. All modern ABS equipped models do this, its more pronounced on some cars than others though... The sound can also sometimes be heard after using the ABS extensively, i.e. after repeated heavy...

    Click noise after releasing clutch

I think thats the ABS self-test that occurs at around 5-6mph after turning on the engine... On some cars its louder, on others its very hard to spot. The click noise is different. Perhaps its something to do with the dual mass flywheel?
