    my top mount knock 'cure'

Same here. And since you have aftermarket shocks, I think we can safely rule out the suspension... The more I think about it, the more I believe its the brakes that are noisy...

    my top mount knock 'cure'

If I remember correctly, on the Dialogys documents, the RS FF models are listed under 'sport suspension', the cup models are under a different category... Cannit, what is the bulletin number for the suspension knock solution? is it the same as the one you posted on the other thread?

    Suspension Doink!!

Ben can you feel the knock through the steering wheel? I can't which reinforces my belief that this isn't a suspension issue...

http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5373 http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7059 On the first thread there are a couple of videos with the noise. @ ben: The more I think about this the more I believe we should think 'outside the box' regarding this noise.. Since its...

    200 Cup Gearbox seems noisy

I think the OP refers to the chattering, 'gear-y' noise that the gearbox makes when lifting off the throttle (i.e. engine braking). This has been discussed before on this forum and was found to be a characteristic of the TL4 gearbox. Ofcourse, if the noise seems excessive it could signify a...

    Suspension Doink!!

Hmm.. My car is a FF 200. That means the solution doesn't apply in my case.. Ben, can you record your noise and post it online?

    Suspension Doink!!

Thanks for the info Cannit! One last question: has the part number for the front shocks changed? If so, do you have the new part number? Thanks again!

    Suspension Doink!!

Last I checked with them was in October if I remember correctly. We searched with the chief mechanic on ACTIS for any bulletin describing the above symptoms, however we couldn't find anything relevant apart from a notice regarding loose driveshaft bolts causing noises (it wasn't that). I am...

    Suspension Doink!!

What a weird problem. Apparently its not uncommon yet there is no clear diagnosis. I've had the car for a full week at the dealers. They checked everything. They even tried loosening parts of the suspension and driving over a certain pothole in the hopes of making the noise worse and...

    Drivers Window Being A Pain...

The window lifting mechanism needs calibration (in other words, it needs to 'learn' the limits of the open/close positions). This calibration needs to be performed after the battery has been disconnected for more than a couple of minutes. As has already been said, lift the windows up and keep...

    5-40 10-40 oil

Well, apart from it being clearly stated in the manual, Dialogys pdfs etc., take it from a former Megane II owner - the lifetime of the dephaser pulley on Renault VVT engines needs lubrication and it needs it fast :P Obviously, 0w-40 would be good too, but oil consumption would be higher I...

    5-40 10-40 oil

Use only 5w-40 on the F4R engine!

Suspension noise or is something inside the cabin noisy? (update: now with video)

Did you check the videos I've posted? Is it the same noise? Note that I had the top mount replaced by the dealer, this didn't solve the problem though. Is this the part you had replaced?

    Rear axle toe in

I fitted the shims today, I have to say I'm quite pleased with the result: Uploaded with ImageShack.us The rear axle is now nearly spot on. :) Installation was simple, but the shock absorber gets in the way of using a torque wrench. You have to either remove the absorber or use an extension...

    Rear axle toe in

I've searched through the various Dialogys .pdfs to no avail.. The diagram describing the proper torque numbers for the rear axle is a little convoluted. Any ideas anyone? Also, Merry Christmas! :)

    Rear axle toe in

So I got a couple of Renaultsport shims. I'm going to be installing them next week, however I can't find the proper torque for the 4 bolts securing the wheel & brake assembly to the rear axle stub. Does anyone know of the proper torque for the bolts pointed at in the diagram below: Uploaded...

    200 mp3 usb

If you have an older version of the firmware, the MP3 player will only work with sticks of up to 16gb capacity. However, if you download and apply this update: http://www.renault.co.uk/ownerservices/multimedia/audio-multi-functional-tunepoint-update.aspx you will find that most compatibility...

Any noticable difference in later Euro 5 RS 200 engines?

The only difference between the engines is different ECU software. The same thing happened with the K4M 1600cc engine when they went from Euro3 to Euro4 - only in the case of the K4M 5bhp were lost :(
