    Landscapes and Wildlife thread

Been to Skomer five times now, never managed to get the shot I wanted. These little *******s are the size of a pigeon moving at 50mph and better yet, The weather was atrocious, we got so soaked we retreated to a premier inn instead of camping, the light was appalling but I got him. Chuffed to...

THE picture / take a drive thread. Lets have some fun !

There's some oil tankers in the background, honest! Next up, an ice cream van. Preferably with a whippy but the van will do!

    new camera

I wouldn't say leaving it in auto is a waste of time, you buy an SLR or CSC camera for the big sensor, so even in auto it gives you better photos in low light and harsh light. i would learn by experimenting with the Tv and Av modes. Tv lets you control the shutter (time variable) and the...

Also, before changing consider using an alternate camera app as you can get lots with manual ISO and shutter speed etc.

    Camera's on Phones.................

http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/Moto-X-Style-Mobile-review-Style-and-Substance/Ranking DXO rating are pretty reliable, Galaxy S6edge is current champ but if you would rather iOS the 6S+ is not far behind. I think the big difference between big phones like the plus and smaller phones like your 6...

    Kit thread

It's true, you can do pretty much anything on a good fiddy. I used to have a 5d2 myself, sold it and all my canon gear when my business ended and I do really miss that camera. Took me a good four years to get back to a similar kit situation. You are right upgrades are a very slippery slope...

    Kit thread

What you shooting with? What you planning on buying soon? For landscapes and daily carry I use a Sony a7 with a Zeiss 16-35mm f4. For wildlife I use a Sony a77II with a Sony 70-400 GII. I'm missing a good standard, really want a Zeiss 55mm f1.8 but money might point me towards the Sony 50mm f1.8.

I'm currently the only person spamming the photo thread on Whathifi so I'd happily stick them on here instead :)

    Other "hobbies"................?

Seems to be a lot of cyclists and photographers. I love both myself, and I found hot hatches weirdly practical for these activities. When I go looking for trails or birds (the flying kind) or landscapes I tend to find myself on awesome country roads. Are there enough photographers on here for...

    Why Clio's annoy me......Part 1.

The glove box is terrible. You can't really put anything in it except for the bit right at the back. I have various cables and chargers, painkillers, emergency breakfast bars etc in there nothing out of the ordinary, but it all gets clogged up in the exposed hinges and stops it closing. And...

Video and Photos from the Cairngorms

Hi all, I made a short edit whilst on Holiday up in the Cairngorms. It was mainly on the A939, I drove from Boat of Garten to Balmoral via Tomintoul and Cock Bridge (titter). Stop in Tomintoul if you like Whiskey, go to the Whiskey Castle :) The edit is more scenic than hardcore, such a...
