    Brands Hatch Indy yesterday, MSVT run. Packed up the night before, then had a load of work to do until past 1am and ended up with about 4 hours sleep, but brands is about 50 mins from my house so nice and easy vs Croft at 6 hours... Garmin Catalyst - TLDR: well, this is a game changer. It's...

    indeed, i'm not sure there's much to gain beyond those - i dont need 4K (on the contrary, i'd rather more storage and 1080p...). i think the bluetooth remote control would be handy given the position within the car but hardly any hardship without.

    Got the wife to pre-emptively agree i’m allowed a day off here and there for TDs post birth.. hence goodwood booked, lol. Can get her to come and watch as an excuse to go out rather than resent me being out having fun. Thats how this works right?

    ah yes, i'll see how this goes - mines a Hero (2014) i got as a christmas gift from work back then, used it a few times skiing but been sat in a drawer since! Tbh i think the stabilisation ones are a little better, but some world economic stuff seems to have happened and means literally...

    Tbh my recaros sit so low i need it, was driving on my tip toes to avoid the low sun recently. wonder if an internal tint would work. One to worry about when it gets ruined or near MOT time!

    It is. I don't think the one i have would be ideal on the inside, but i think i’ll get a better quality one for next time and cut it to fit before fitting internally. I think it maybe MOT issue on outside. Either that or i get a tint company to do it professionally.

    Decent Sunday ticking off little jobs: 1. Sunstrip installed, fiddly but easier with wife’s help as she’s an expert at cut and stick. Also after thinking about it i forgot about the rain sensor.. so had to re-do one half to fix that :smiley: looks professional now though. (Sainsburys carpark...

    FWIW moving up car power categories moves you up in braking/consumable/servicing/brand cost category, and it's not a linear cost line. To move from a Clio to an E92 M3 (clubsport) you're talking more money for the M3 suspension and brakes alone than the entire clio + 'clubsport' equivalent mods...

    the upside of shipping your track tool is you can take additional cars... man maths right here. i've now told my wife our new practical baby car is going to need to have a tow bar. obviously. this forum is expensive.

    there MUST be a ring shipping company that does regular transport runs. i have to admit i dont fancy sitting in my clio all the way there. i see some attending in June, wonder if i could jump on that bandwagon..

    yet to track it - but keen to do so and you'd be very welcome, sadly i hear donny is now ridiculous with noise limits so i'll need to buy some silencer tips (because my titanium superlight JCR is ... on the loud side). and they cost more than a set of coilovers for a clio, so .. tbd!

    Ever tried doing a hill climb? Alternatively if you enjoy the social - perhaps could organise the next forum track day? I get the same negative energy over winter tbh, but a little bit of mods or cleaning (surprising how much excitement i got from a stretchy custom car cover for my aston..)...

    got some experience of this? this is my plan. hopefully i can substitute an expensive flush mount scissor lift in my new garage for simply a baby that can easily crawl under the car to do an oil change.

    GW 200 CUP (clubsport->racecar->v2)

    ahh you changed it from the images i saw - previously looked like it was somehow mounted left of the dash. i think i need to keep all the various dash bits, so was looking to mount it on the side somewhere. took me a while to realise the catalyst uses all of the same garmin 'RAM' mount...

    decided i'm going to try subframe mounted eye bolts for the passenger seat, given the seat is on rails it will mean they don't need adjusting every time you adjust the seat position. in future the recaro subframe may get in the sea, so to speak, and some PMS direct to floor mounts will result in...
