CLIO 197 CUP - Project TF

My thoughts on stuff like this, is your labour is free, so you’re not losing out if you have to replace in the future. That being said, I’d always replace the slave

I didn’t realise you were getting resistance in the pedal. Simmo’s had that before and it was an issue with the clutch plate, which in turn killed the slave.

It could also be an issue with the clutch plate if the pedals really hard

It is a crazy amount of pressure. Thats normal. Did you try prising the slave out? So put the screwdriver in the direction of red, then prise it outwards in direction of blue. Then put the pipe on.

It’s not fully closed Remove the clip entirely. Then use a long flat blade screwdriver to keep the inlet of the slave rigid, then push the pipe on, then put the clip in.

Lots is overstating it, but I’ve had direct experience with running their discs in following the pad instructions. When your disc cracks, you then have absolutely 0 recourse through GS. I appreciate my use case was probably different to most, as the car was only ever used on track. Doing 2-300...

That’s fair enough. But these are Godspeed discs.

I’m sorry, but that is poor advice for this disc manufacturer.

I’d follow Godspeeds instructions. I’m sure he told me to have another set of pads to run the disc in first. Here lies the problem with them really. If you don’t do that, there’s no recourse when you have issues down the road.

On the 330mm kit yes. On the 340mm kit no.

That passenger disc is properly buggered too! Good effort

Crap news about the box oil! Was worth a try though. Going to be interesting to hear what you think of the megane upgrade over stock size.

Don’t get too fixated on temps btw. I know it sounds stupid, but thinner oil will be hotter, but it’s drawing the heat out of the metal components.

Oh dear. Well good luck! Thicker doesn’t mean better.

I never really put 2 and 2 together lads. But I think if you go back to 75w80, you'll see far less wear on the synchro's. I noticed when moving to 90 in mine (after fitting the diff) that I could feel a slight notchiness. I went back to 80 and it was fine. I spoke to Gripper about it at the...

    Power tool recommendations please

Some of the Dewalt stuff is really good. A 3/8 and 1/2" gun is a great addition to the toolbox.
