    H&R Spring alternatives

My 2 pence, bought my 197 with 109k on the original shocks with H&R fitted. Quite quickly realised how knackered the suspension was so whilst replacing a load of bits (topmounts, swivel joints, both wishbones and ball joints, ARB and anti rotation links and shocks) and decided that I wanted to...

197/200/Cup Anti Roll Bar Diameter Thread

I would also look at ARB links and Anti rotation links for knocking. ARB not so much but as the Anti rotation links have an almost structural job they wear and the play can be felt. They arnt massively expensive. I spose anything upwards of 50k miles and a certain age will need attention. After...

    Washer Bottle Replacement Smaller?

The only one that I have heard might fit is a Twingo one, but I have no idea if its true. I am sure if you looked maybe a universal pippet sized one would work?

    Cruise Control Not Working

If none of the buttons work Id suggest there may also be an issue there? Broken wire?

    Windscreen replacement?

I was guessing a windscreen for a full fat with auto rain sensors, etc is more than the £80 excess, if they are putting their hand in their pocket Id expect them to be difficult but Ill give them a call and see! Saying that, if its for a safety reason...

    Windscreen replacement?

Hey all, My windscreen is knackered, its very stone chipped and has wiper marks all over it from the previous owner using knackered wiper blades. It makes it difficult to see properly as the sun and headlights dazzle. I want to replace it but presumably it'll run into the hundreds of pounds if...

    Exhaust/silencer delete + Remap

The noise with a mid silencer delete is loud. Ive been in one and its drony at anything above 35 really. If you want some noise without it being ASBO loud is a non resonated exhaust like a Scorpion system. Any modification to the exhaust will need remapping anyway to get the best. Saying that...

    Projector headlights to dim

There is a height sensor front and rear, sounds like one is damaged so default position is at the floor.

    Projector headlights to dim

You can manually adjust it with an alley key on the top of the headlight bud. Find a nice level place with a wall or garage door to get them level.

Weak syncros may not be the issue after all...

I forgot to add I also have a lightened crank pulley which if anything should add vibrations.

    Interior light issue

Yeh, Id just invest in a lightweight battery like a Varley Redtop unless you specifically want the space for a fancier intake.

    Interior light issue

The only issue I have heard with relocating the battery is loss of power from longer cables but if its a daily or used very regularly shouldn't be an issue.

    Interior light issue

Sounds like battery on its way out? Electronics do odd things when it cant get enough electric so Id estimate this. As you rev you are spinning the alternator at a faster rate pushing more charge into the system.

Weak syncros may not be the issue after all...

Mines on 122k now and no sign of failure. Theres nothing in the service history about changing a gearbox or clutch so I would assume its not been changed. I am fairly mechanically sympathetic in that I tend to put my foot down at 3k plus and if I change I dont smash it through the box. I also...

    Airbox & Induction Noise

I have modified the acoustic valve by cutting the acoustic valve itself, removing the motor and flap essentially turning it into an intake trumpet. That means you can blank the hose from the manifold to the vacuum solenoid using 4mm silicone blanks on the manifold attachment and connections on...

    Problems after fitting Milltek

Id always recommend a custom remap as above, the KTEC renflash will be ok but I understand its more of a generic map, not factoring in flatspots or modifications. It might make the car feel better but may not sort it completely.

Map sensor mod? what is it...

I bought one for about £6 posted off a chap on Facebook. Only 3d plastic printed but does the job of A) keeping the Map sensor level providing a seal between the sensor and fitting hole and B) keeping it in one place. Its not brilliant as it still needs a ziptie. Importantly though, a ziptie...

    Manifold advice

Matt is right with the options but Id say the Toyo's are hit and miss and dont seem to flow as well as original. A middle option is replacing flexi's on original and fitting a Supersprint Y pipe to remove the cat (or bash it out to just get rid of it) but this might prove a bit more expensive...

Megane 250, what are they like?

See some have said they are expensive to run (local Renault Specialist I take my Clio to) but I cant see why the would be. Servicing is the same intervals, theres still a cambelt to consider but no Dephaser so £100 cheaper. Turbo maybe at 100k+ might need replacing. Modern petrols dont suffer...

Megane 250, what are they like?

Cheers bud, that would be good. Still fairly set on a 250, wont be for a little while yet!
