Pin kit needed for fitting new brake pads ?

Do you think this kit would be ideal? It's been in my watch list for ages but I haven't needed to change the pads until now... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363087977589

    EXHAUST HELP

That looks like a full Toyosports/Gravity exhaust including the decat manifold... I have pretty much the same and I got 92db from a proper sound test done at Castle Combe... They are deffo loud and I'm looking to add a sports cat at some point to reduce the noise a bit.

https://fastchip.nl/ Buy the RS Tuner kit (includes a free custom remap). I have one and out of the £1000's spent on my 197, this one tool has been the most impressive bang for buck.... It allows you to read all specific faults and errors, view all live sensors/data and record this data when...

Hi Chaps, Just removed rear seats & fitted some Corsa VXR Recaro front seats... Looking for an extended rear boot mat to make it look a little tidier and can only see to 'off-the-shelf' options... Gravity 197 Exhaust Manifold

Literally this - I went for the powerflex bushings (get some pretty crazy vibrations from them but it's my weekend car so doesn't bother me and they have since settled after ~500 miles or so). Some others have taken a small notch out of their subframe for the extra clearance too... I'm sure...

    Suj's Nimbus Clio 197 and E36 328i Trackcar

Just out of interest, what voltage should it be making when running? Mine sometimes goes as high as 14.8v, not sure if that's good or bad? Admittedly I recorded the voltage using one of those cheap cigarette>USB plugs with the voltage reader built in.... Not sure if these are super accurate but...

    Missfire and no power

You pretty much answered your own post - you've identified an issue with the washer hose, get that fixed and then replace plugs. The photo of the 2 plugs; I would say they are due for replacement if they are looking like that, they aren't terrible and are likely fine but just for good measure...

Misfiring and hesitation, check injection check esp warnings

I'd be looking at the spark/injection still - you said you have replaced 2 of the 4 coils which is a little odd, as normally when you replace coils you'd do all 4 at once so you have peace of mind knowing they're all good. Check Cylinder 4 plug and coil/wiring (if you're looking towards the...

Door buttons don't lock door - Clio 200

Just a simple soldering setup will suffice - £15 delivered for the basics: Iron Holder Solder Obviously this is cheap but it will do for the job you need it for and will likely come in handy for future jobs... You could grab some heatshrink tubing to use after you've soldered to protect the...

Door buttons don't lock door - Clio 200

I suppose if you're looking to save money and you have some spare time on your hands and you have basic soldiering skills/tools, then replacing the switch is the winner... If you're more of a "time is money" fella and want to just replace the entire unit, buying new handles and replacing will...

Door buttons don't lock door - Clio 200

JMR - pop me a PM, I have a few of the micro switches lying about as I was meaning to get around to doing my door handles at some point. Rear ABS ring and sensor replacement

Just a follow up here - The I didn't seat the ABS bracket back far enough. As a result of this, the rubber/magnetic ring on the disc had rubbed on the ABS bracket and needs replacing... Bit annoying but lesson learned! Tip: Once you get the ABS bracket fitted and you think it's on properly, get...

Rear ABS ring and sensor replacement

I think this is it - bracket went on and all the way back but you might be spot on - it may be a few mm out so not 100% seated... Disc did spin but not as freely as you have mentioned - first thing I'll check tomorrow morning! I'll ping some pics/videos over tomorrow after re-inspection mate...

Rear ABS ring and sensor replacement

@suj mate... Just wanted to say thanks for the info on this post. I completed passenger rear ABS bracket, disc and pads change today and ESP/ABS light came on instantly - came here to have a look at what I may have missed... Currently getting ESP/ABS light, it turns off after going down the...

Squeal on cold start. (Vids inside) help.

I am also keen to find out what the resolution to this is (if you managed to resolve it...)? In your video, I noticed the sound when your car is idle (before you rev it), I get the same sound as that... It's not a high pitched whistle but more of the whining noise, it changes pitch when you rev...

    Cheap rear pads

What a find! I have a set of rear discs and Brembo pads to fit at some point - I don't suppose you (or anybody else) would advise the genuine Renault pads over Brembo pads? I would assume they almost identical in performance so not worth buying these and having the Brembo pads stuck on a shelf?

    Time for new calipers?

Can I just say thank you for sharing that pin removal tool.... I will be doing a refresh on my brakes when the weather gets a little better and I had such a nightmare last year when it came to the pins. Great job on sorting yours out also, look super clean for a driveway job done in the snow!!
