It'll never be a 100% match, as it's from a different car with differing paint weathering/oxidisation etc, unless you have it blended in to the surrounding paintwork. That would essentially mean having the roof, tailgate, and possibly the top of the rear quarters painted which is way OTT for a...

It's proving it that'll be the tough part (I obviously believe you). A few years ago I had a non-car related dispute with a company and got a solicitor to write a letter threatening legal action. The letter only cost me £30 so might be worth a try.

Was the engine warm or cold when it did it? Which gear were you in? Might be best to try and get a video of it happening.
