    Dealerships do make me laugh..

Nearside front fog light got smashed by a stone the other day. Phoned up the local Renault place to me in Chichester. Quote for a fog light was a bargainous price of £60 odd plus VAT, plus fitting taking the price to around £130. Was told that the bumper has to come off.. I was thinking...

    200 cup worth lowering springs???

KWs and comfort? Seriously they are a firmer ride than the Renault cup suspension. Some mornings when I drive to work I think to myself "why the f*** didn't I buy a 1.2TCe Clio estate with the nice stilt like springs to soak up the bumps??"

    Nearly There

Ask for deposit back. As Deako has said they will give it back to you.

    Question to 200 cup drivers.

Was the car you measured it up to older than your's? If your Cup is a brand spanker then the shocks will take a month or two settle.

    Potholes!

Council will only pay damages if they are aware of the pothole. The photo shows no spray paint markings around pothole, which normally suggests the council/local authority are aware. I'd be surprised if your friend gets any compensation. Sucks, I know, but that's what happens.

    Potholes!

I'm going for weekend break to the Isle of Wight in a few weeks and there is no way I am taking my 200 over there the place is reknowned for it's knackered roads. Going to take my Fiat Panda instead.

Saw my old R27 the other day :'(

Actually Maz, for the first few weeks I really did regret it. But in hindsight the 200 is a better car, all of the shortcomings of the 197 have been ironed out. Apart from the lack of xenons and slightly suspect looks.

Saw my old R27 the other day :'(

I was following the girlfriend as she was dropping off her car to get it serviced. Turned into the road where she was dropping her car off and it was there I first noticed an Ultra Red 197 with xenons tucked in a row of parked cars. I knew straight away it was my old motor, got closer and...

What are u thoughts on this?

Sewards of Portsmouth - A truly wonderful dealership....... (note the sarcasm.) Either completely wrap it or completely remove it, ditch the shopping list and the pointless surname stickers.

    First Cars!

I dread to think how much the insurance was!!?!?! I looked into buying a MkIII C plate XR3i, in black around 1991/92 and all the insurance companies were quoting two to three grand! Which must be around £8000 in today's money!

    Megane 225...

The one thing you'll notice is that it won't rev as high as the Clio - Which is what the Clio is all about. In first and second gears the Megane doesn't feel any faster than the Clio. However hit third and it pulls like a train.

    Finally...

Nice one Maz! I wouldn't worry about the pedals, as the rest of your car is awesome!

    200 Vs 197

I changed from a R27 197, which I had from new to a 200, not much difference at all really. Drives the same, fractionally a little more lower down torque and a little quieter on the motorway to my last car due to different gear ratios.

Why i can't sell up for another manufacturer basically.

I changed from a R27 to a 200 and guess what? I wish I had chosen a different car. Yeh the new one looks good (although not as good as my old R27) it drives good (just like my old one) but that it's it. No difference really and I think I've tired of the Clio - it's my thrid Renaultsport in...

Part exchange price for my R27!!

I was in the same mind as what you were 197 then a 250 next. Driving it changed my mind and preferred the rev the tits out of it aspect of the Clio. Plus there were a few other issues lack of rear space, visibilty etc... But seriously £7000 for your car is taking the piss mate. I got £8750...
