You need a good clean live feed ideally, running through the fuse box would work, but might not give enough juice. I'd be worried about the main fuses too, iirc most fuses with amp cabling is at least 80A.
Excellent, I did think it could be cold weather related, it's the first cold spell Ive had with the car. Battery is off at the moment. Saves me having to diagnose it, last thing I want to do when it's my day job!
this morning my radio stopped working, illuminates on the power button but doesn't switch on. No problem really as I'm planning to change it. Just ce to my car after work and noticed the clock and radio display still lit. Car still started after 9 hours luckily. I'll have a good look at the...
Does anyone have this to hand? The motor group I work for has Renault under its belt, but we use Morris 25l drums for most of our gearboxes. I know if I contact them (they arn't the cleverest of chaps, and VERY lazy) they'll tell me to use our bulk oil. If anyone has the part number for I assume...
I know its early days for this car, but has anyone considered or attempted a manual conversion yet? The Juke and soon the Qashqai use this engine successfully with a manual box as I'm sure you all know, so I'm sure it's possible in a Clio?
Stripped down the engine last week. Good news was the belts were done 3k ago. Bad news is I found a rocker arm on its side floating around in the head. No damage done, so fitted a new rocket and tappet. Refitted it all with a new belt and started it up. Tap tap tap, still there! Seems I may of...
Tried Sky insurance? I know they are a sponsor of ClioSport forum, unsure if they are on here. I've struggled to get insurance on my first 172 with my wife on the policy, but Sky gave me an unbeatable price. So much so that I've stayed with them for 2 other cars.
It's always the way. I've always had older cars, mainly hot hatches. Treat myself to a nice 07' 197 three weeks ago, and I've had 2 snapped springs, a spark plug fall apart and now what looks like a broken tappet. I hope next week is better!
Ryan, I'm unsure yet. It sounds very much like a stuck tappet. Pretty certain it's not bottom end as if I use a screwdriver on the engine, the noise gets louder as I move up the engine. It's either #3 or #4 cylinder. Fingers crossed its nothing more terminal!
Ahh bugger. It's definitely top end. I'm trying a flush and oil change first as I feared the worst earlier, but compressions are good, no swarf in oil, no noticeable misfire and no drop in power when it happened. I'm hoping its just a sticky tappet.
