That's a fair point, but while the car is new and under warranty it should not creak and rattle like a 10 year old car. I rang Renault UK and spoke to a very decent customer service manager who has asked the dealer to take my car in and take it to bits in one last attempt to fix the creaking...

Anyone else got a creaking noise from under the dash? It's the duct pointing at my feet I think, don't know what I can do to fix it. Fine when it's cold....not so good when it's warm.

I thought there might be a sensor to tell the engine to raise the revs a bit, like there is when the aircon comes on. Yes you are right, dry steering is evil anyway!! I stole the avatar pic so can't claim credit for that! Thanks for the replies.

Apologies if this is in the wrong area, but I'm looking for a bit of advice. I've noticed on my 197 that if I sit and dry steer the car a bit, the revs drop and the lights dim slightly, and the heating fan slows down, as if the car's about to stall. It will do the same if I let the revs drop...

My Cup has been OK so far, judders a bit when I fire it up in this weather which makes me cringe a bit. Maybe I should have put some Magnatec in it!! Got stuck a few times though, but the Clio isn't as bad as I thought it would be. A blue 182 got stuck 3 times on my estate though, poor fella...
