Instrument Panel Upper LCD Display Issue

Hi, I'm having an issue with the LCD display on the instrument panel on my Clio 3RS. It is completely fine when I first turn the ignition on but after a short while with or without driving the digits die out the whole display isn't readable anymore.

I found replacement LCD panels on ebay but they aren't that cheap so before ordering this I wanted to see if anyone here had a similar issue before and fixed it.

If you give the dasboard above the dial a whack when the digits die do they come back?

I tried whacking it and didn’t change anything. But it was loose connections afterall I guess. I took the dials out and took it apart to check the connections of the LCD and gave it a little push into its place, its now working fine.

I was sure the whack would work. 60% of the time it works every time.

Better to do the job properly though glad you got it working

This happened to mine, I just popped the surround off, Popped the dash out, Unplugged it and plugged it back in and never had an issue since.

Its a job that takes under 5mins from start to finish to get the clocks / speedo out and and back in.
