Poorboys, white diamond show glaze. Thoughts.

It's full of fillers, so quite good at hiding swirls marks etc. Its going to need sealing though to get any real longevity out of it. Pretty good product though, as can be used in the sun or shade, by hand or machine so quite versatile. I've used both that and Black hole before with decent...

    Megane Engine resources

That's interesting @strell I guess being able to drive both back to back almost gives you a better/more accurate comparison. I think tbh its the low down/off the mark nippiness that I am missing really. You seem to be needing to do stupid speeds before the car comes alive, and on todays roads...

    Megane Engine resources

100% that! I'd only really started looking into the costs of all this recently, and was pretty much basing what I thought it would be on what it cost me to convert my 205 ages ago. Small reality check, in that it looks highly likely which ever way you go this is going to cost more than twice...

    Megane Engine resources

Firstly thanks for the replies! Looking at what has been said, it almost seems like the window for this conversion is actually closing now and it's becoming more difficult in sourcing parts more than anything. That may explain why I was struggling to find engines in the first place (hence the...

    Megane Engine resources

Hi all, Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't entirely sure where it would sit best really, as it isn't a full on technical post. I've had my 200 for a little while now, and having done A LOT of reading on the forums (I tend not to post much, but if this gets going I'll...

    Windscreen washer jets

Hi all, So I have a small problem with my washer jets (not ideal in the current weather). So far I've changed all piping (to the front windscreen) blown out the rear line to make sure thats clear (didn't want to get overly involved in changing that pipe atm as that jet doesn't seem to bad)...

    Moisture in rear light

I don't have this in the rear lights, but there is a visible waterline on my side indicators. Going to have to try and work out how to get them off, checked and figure out why they are filling up at some point. I did have this before in another car though, and that turned out to be the seals...

    Renault Parts direct

(Thread revival, sorry) I contacted RPD 12th Dec. Robin came back to me next day, to which I responded straight away but heard nothing since. He did say Paul was away so guess they are busy. I'll try them again once everything opens up after the New Year break. Need to get these bushes etc...

    100k refresh

Thats great info, thank you. My car is a daily, and TBH will never see a racetrack (I have a Caterham for that). Looking back through the vehicle history all I can see related to this is, 2016 - O/S front hub & carrier replaced 2019 - N/S track rod end 2021 - 2 x front lower wishbones replaced...

    100k refresh

I'm pretty confident it's NOT the steering rack. It's not a clunk as such, it doesn't really make any noise. Its more like you can just feel something back through the wheel on full lock in reverse. I'm guessing it is probably something else a bit worn or soft. I'm only reversing at real low...

    100k refresh

Hi all, So my car has ticket over 100k now and even since I've owned it (which hasn't been long) I've noticed things getting a bit sloppier on the handling side of things, and it has just developed a slight knock when reversing out my drive. The steering also feels a bit notchy when on full...

    Urgent heater help!!

We have a winner! Got some heat into my hands so I could actually feel what I was doing and belled out ALL the fuses after working out the wiper jet motor is on the same fuse as the climate control (WHY!!). Seems I must've either missed that one, or somehow got a reading off it. So I now have...

    Urgent heater help!!

OK so I've now belled all the fuses out and everything seems fine. I also appear to have lost my washer jets (front and rear) now, pull the stalk and nothing. Anyone have any suggestions. Getting pretty desperate here as need the car for work tomorrow and won't be able to use it if I can't...

    Urgent heater help!!

Hi there, Yes that that bit of trim off and found the small blade fuse box under there. I belled out the 2 fuses which look like they had something to do with the fan (fan symbol on the sticker) and both seemed fine. Will check again this morning though now it's light. Thanks Steve

    Urgent heater help!!

Hi all, So I've been out in the car this evening and pulled the stereo out as my other half has got me a new one for my birthday. As I've pulled the stereo out I've lost the lights on the heater display. I've still got lights on the controls (so fan speed, direction etc), but no lights on the...
