Obd reader

Hey guys
Wanted to ask if anyone uses a good obd reader that does most things needed and is accurate with the clio3?

I was looking at getting a cheap Bluetooth reader and downloading an app.

Any recommendation welcome

Outside the UK, it seems like you can only use the one from fastchip, all the standard and high-end OBD readers wont work with the car. I have tried like 3 different models and pricepoints, no luck.

How do you activate the ignition? I have the $5 one, Plex, and something inbetween. I have tested the readers on other cars and they work fine, but with the Clio and Torque on my Android, i get an error saying can't read the PIMs

I would get a Renault clip most come from China if they can send you the virus then they can deliver a Clip some cheap win7 laptop and your sorted and independent. Over here most garages charge £35 to run a diagnostic and erase a code, the cheap obd readers can read codes and erase errors but are not able to explain the codes into something meaningful I bought my clip for the 172 that would go into limp mode at different times I got it down to wet days when there was standing water or when I was driving very easy low revs and short shifting. Anyway I could read codes with the cheap reader but it only told me emissions codes the Renault clip that cost £125 straight away said second Lambda heating element failed, It can reconfigure the car turning on and off options like rain sensor/ auto headlights that I retro fitted and gave me live data like resistance on the airbag circuits to track down which airbag and the corrosion on the connector put the resistance above the upper limit bringing the air bag light on and the ability to turn airbag circuits on and off. The ability to check the vin numbers matched on the network computers so I new the car was original and complete see how many keys were programmed to the car, live emissions data and ability to operate systems like open ABS circuits to bleed the system along with being able to tell me when buttons were pressed on the dash stem controls and door handles a big help when you don't know if the button or the device it operates is defective. Now the better copy clip should have a cypress chip that should make the comms more reliable, some clips can disconnect and be annoying but I find if it is idle for a while some are now as cheap as £80 be careful with the software I found loads of viruses on the Cd's that shipped with the clip so bought newer software from and online source after.

unlock the car - insert card in slot - in neutral - dont touch pedals - press and hold start button until steering lock comes off and dash lights up - this should have ignition fully on
