SUSPENSION ARMS

hi all, fitted new front lower wishbone suspension arms 6 weeks ago (fleabay £200 for the pair). took it for the mot today and it failed. excessive play passenger side wishbone bush. anyone else had faulty wishbones.

Can't say I have, but it seems weird that they would be faulty if new. No chance something went awry with fitment or that actually it's another part that isn't the wishbone itself causing the play?

Take it back and get the guy to point out what's wrong they have probably miss named the faulty part but if you jack the car up my guess is a lower ball joint at the 6 o'clock position pulling and pushing the bottom and top of the wheel if there is play or a knock then most likely that's it. The lower arm bush holes are larger than the bolt its not a tight fit so if they are not done up tight enough there will be false play. Get a retest that's the cheapest way to point out the problem if the part is replaced they cant turn you down.

cheers chaps. heres an update . ordered a new wishbone from eurocarparts £120,image1.jpeg image2.jpeg turns out its exactly the same wishbone id bought on fleabay exact numbers stamped in, so fitted new wish bone and noticed an eleongated bolthole on the subframe. here are a few pics. put a massive washer on the elongated bolt hole side and tightened with a 18" strong arm. took for retest and tester advised still play in wishbone bush. passed it with an advisary. anyone any suggestions.

Pure motorsport sell washers to weld in and fix the hole problem the vertical rear holes are the same as mine but I thought it was for adjustment camber or something like that, but it all boils down to at some time the bolts were not tight enough. Take it to a specialists at some time now you have the MOT and see what they say

Cheers for that. I'm was sure there was something wrong with that bolt hole.
