Interior light issue

Have a bit of an issue with the interior light on my 197, at idle the lights dim a little and then once you rev the car the brighten slightly. Is this normal??

Sounds like battery on its way out? Electronics do odd things when it cant get enough electric so Id estimate this. As you rev you are spinning the alternator at a faster rate pushing more charge into the system.

Thanks for your reply. I already had an idea, just wasn't 100% as these cars have so many little odd issues. I want to relocate the battery to the boot and try and get a smaller/lighter one, but I need to figure out exactly what I need.

The only issue I have heard with relocating the battery is loss of power from longer cables but if its a daily or used very regularly shouldn't be an issue.

That's the thing, it's not at all. Gets driven twice a week for 20 mins maybe!!!

Yeh, Id just invest in a lightweight battery like a Varley Redtop unless you specifically want the space for a fancier intake.

I have a similar issue. The lights dim when I turn the steering wheel. I changed the battery but it still does it slightly. I will change the terminals and see how it goes. Do you know if there might be something else?
