Weird heat issue

took the car to cadwell.

After 3-4 laps I noticed temps rising so came off track.

Cooled down

Took back out exact same thing after 3.5 laps.

Took car out on road and under medium to hard driving (same as track) I did not incur any issues whatsoever.

Any ideas?

Aftermarket fan mounted to rear of rad (engine side)

Blowing in towards engine so sucking heat away effectively.

Is this correct?

That's right.

Some people have had issue's on track when using the clio rad.

Are the outlets on the same side or opposite?

Also remove the rear seal on the bulkhead to let heat out when on track.

Just spoke to old owner
It’s got a clio alloy rad.

I’ll buy an airtec for meglio conversion unless you guys tell me an alternative?

Clio rad is fine for mine on track.

Maybe it’s not functioning a 100% or possibly the fmic you have is covering too much of it?

New thermostat might help.

Lots of ponderables. AirTec one looks great though!

My issue is it’s 100 percent perfect on road.

Sadly I’ll have to pay for another track day to then learn I haven’t resolved the issue. Bloody frustrating lol

It does have a fairly large fmic so yes possibly covering too much of it. What’s the fix there?

Yes agreed on thermostat
I’ll try this.

Also looking at electric waterpumps etc.

I love the car for all its positives and I don’t mind spending money if it guarantees no heat issues.

Also looking at venting bonnet but I hate the rs style
Would love something like this bonnet:

Anyone have anything similar?

I have put some holes in the back of a spare bonnet and the heat that comes from them is huge. I put them over the frame so water could run into the scuttle drains.

All my pics are on my old phone. I'll see what I can find.

Well I can’t be doing with unpredictable and hard to replicate issues without risking another ruined track day so I’ve just bought an airtec rad for meglio conversion
How much are they if you don’t mind me asking?
